This was by far the worst hotel we stayed in during our travels in Egypt. It was extremely overpriced. When we checked in, we were told that we had been upgraded to the a suite. If we had a 'suite', I'd hate to see what a basic room looks like! It was cramped and the furnishings might have been passable... More

If we wanted to have that "Overlook Hotel" feeling, that is what we experienced here. We were the only customers in the hotel. Even considering the fears of political unrest in Egypt we had the feeling that it was the price policy of the hotel that kept the customers at bay (other hotels in Abu Simbel were full when we... We stayed one night a few days ago. It was terrible. We paid a ridiculous $US 130 for a room, and got an "upgrade" to a suit. Extremely dated, simple room. Had noisey airconditioning. Dirty bathroom that was stuck in time warp from the 1960's. Tiny towels. A breakfast with a fly in my cordial, expired warm yoghurt, and basicaly... More

After an exhilarating but very tiring morning at Abu Simbel, we were transferred to the Nefertari Hotel for our overnight stay - what a shock - a decrepit, run down, sub standard establishment where both food & service were virtually non existent. We returned to the Abu Simbel coffee shop where we spent three hours, before going to the hotel... More

This 4 stars hotel is enough old and seems an 3 stars, so the price is too high. The breakfast is not so good, the rooms are very spacious and clean, and the position is fantastic...very closed to Abu Simbel temple. I think it's possible to spend less..

This place is walking distance to the ruins. All you need is one night here because there is absolutely nothing to do in this town. The room was clean and very large. It had a separate living room and bedroom. King size bed. Plenty of hot water and good water pressure. The hotel is 15 minutes from airport. They have... More

I booked myself in this hotel from the internet. The website I used alleged that it was a 4 star hotel, the highest rating in Abu Simbel. I was soon to discover that 2 stars would have been more appropriate. I flew to Abu Simbel from Luxor via Aswan and on arrival I was shocked to find that my reservation... More

I stayed there, in late January ’09, in a party of 25 (plus 2 guides) just for one night, before returning to Aswan. The place was empty apart from us & 2 or 3 other people. The staff are very pleasant & helpful & the location is wonderful. The views over the lake at sunset are so peaceful & tranquil;... More

Staying overnight in Abu Simbel gives you a fantastic opportunity to see the monuments at their best. The coach conveys arriving from Aswan dump thousands of tourists at the site, making it quite a crush, particularly inside the temples. However, once they have left, there is an hour of peace and quiet with only a handful of other people around... More
