My wife and I have just returned from a trip to Colombia and we can highly recommend the La34 Hostal. It is a well maintained boutique hotel in a charming, leafy, but happening neighborhood of Medellin. Thirty yards from the hotel is a running creek -- river - surrounded by bamboo forest.! I stayed at La 34 Hostal in the neighborhood of El Poblado (Medellin, Colombia) in early February 2007 with my husband and two other couples.
