Very well run hostel, great friendly staff, comfortable beds, well stocked kitchen, close to supermarket, bars, and the Suramericana metro station. Fun, sociable atmosphere. Would definitely recommend this place over any other in Medellin. The owner and staff often hang out and invite guests to drink with them, which was a great experience as well.

We stayed here for 6 nights. Medellin is an expensive town for hostels (we found Bogota cheaper). Palm Tree advertises itself as the original hostel and it shows in its organisation as its very well run. ..after having issues with our booking - this was at the fault of hostelworld - we managed to secure a small temporary room for 1 night before moving to our private double room for the remaining 6 nights. The temp room was actually a staff members room, which she gave up for us for one night, which was very lovely... More

Despite not being right in the middle of the party district of El Poblado with the other hostels, the Palm Tree hostel is still well-located within walking distance of the centre of the city. I love this place! The staff is warm and friendly. The rooms are clean and tidy. The hostal is close by restaurants, tourist attractios, city train (metro)... excellent location! :) The owners are really nice and they care about tourist, staff and the hostal. I love it!
