The double room we stayed in had a good take on "shabby chic". An unpretentious fit-out (i.e. mostly ikea stuff) that felt right for this. Corner room was well lit with large windows, but also a bit exposed to neighbouring buildings - curtains need to be shut when you want privacy. Staff were helpful when not flat out dealing with... I've stayed at the Loft Design Hostel twice, and I'll probably stay there anytime I'm in Chengdu. The private rooms are fairly large and have lots of light and wood floors. The bathrooms are a bit cramped and basic, but are also pretty clean. And the cafe and courtyard are lovely. Occasionally I find that something frustratingly nonsensical is wrong,... More

The Loft Design Hostel lived up to its billing. The room with twin beds and ensuite bathroom was clean and very spacious. Didn't have any view, so the curtains were closed most of the time. The street outside can be a bit noisy, so not good for sleeping in in the morning, but this has its upside..it makes it easy... More

We found this hostel to be very comfortable (best beds in China on our month-long trip), well designed, and with all the amenities you'd need. They had a nice laundry room, good internet service, and the rooms were just fantastic for the price. Location is great, biking distance to anything in Chengdu. The food in the restaurant downstairs was actually... More

Traveled to Chengdu with my 7 year old nephew and retired Father. The staff accommodated us with a family room, booked a tour to the Panda reserve for us, made sure we did walked through neighborhoods with playgrounds so my nephew could play and interact with other kids. The food was a bit pricey for the quality but recognize paying... More

I stayed for one night (nov 9th,2011) in the standard room, 3rd floor. For me as single traveler, the room and also bathroom is too big. All of reception staffs are friendly, helpfull and very detail in explaining a place. The food is just so so but I think the price is expensive enough. The location is walking distance to... More

We stayed at the 2nd floor and have problems with weak Wi-fi signal. It was On and Off. The room is spacious and clean. The bed is great but they do not change the towel everyday. We got problem with the stinky bathroom at the first night and luckily we were moved to another room on the next day. There... More

We were pleasantly surprised when we got to The Loft - renovated from an old brickworks - it has plenty of charm and is very funky. We booked a double private en-suite, which was cheap at $16 a night, but the bathroom had a rancid odour coming from it all the time. The staff, to their credit, did everything possible... More

My partner and I recently stayed in a double room. The vibe of this hostel is very chilled and chic modern.  The spacious room had a great old factory feel with big windows. The bed was super soft and bathroom was actually clean, which are both extremely rare in China. Our bathroom did have a funky smell but not enough for... More

Large size room with huge, comfortable bed. The towels were changed and the bins emptied daily. The staff were great and always helpful. We had a problem with the air-con in our room so they moved us and were apologetic that the room was on the 4th floor but it didn't worry us. We booked a panda tour and an... More
