This was the best hotel we stayed on during our trip. The hotel is well located for walking to quality stores and pedestrian areas. When we arrived we received an amazing Tibetan reception with gifts and poems/songs. The staff are exceptionally helpful, the rooms are beautifully appointed and very clean, although there was no bath.- only a shower. Food was... More

We stayed in this hotel as part of a Travelsphere tour, highlights of China. Average tourist type hotel and fine for a couple of nights stay as part of the trip.

I only stayed in Chengdu for 2 nights to visit the Panda Breeding Center, but was quite impressed by the rooms at this hotel. The hotel is centrally located, the rooms were spacious and offered fine amenities, my favorite being the rainforest shower. They also offer robes, in-room safes, room service and climate control. The beds were hard but the... More

It rates itself 4-star but is definitely a 3. With this understood then this is a small, comfortable hotel with a Tibetan flavour, which I like. There is only one restaurant on the second floor, but it is spacious, serves good food at a reasonable price (by hotel standard) and has a 2-storey, 3-D mockup of the Potala Palace. It... More

We stayed at this hotel as part of our tour of China with Travelsphere. We were in room 418 and there was a room safe. There were two single beds and they were hard. There was tea and coffee making facilities. A small bottle of water is provided for each guest daily. Breakfast was the same as in all Chinese... More

My friends and I were terrified after reading all the negative reviews on TripAdvisor about the Lhasa Grand Hotel, as it was scheduled for two nights on our 20-day tour. In the end, we were pleasantly surprised. The beds were the most comfortable of all the hotels we stayed in, and the shower was the nicest with the best water... More

Stayed here in October last year for one night as part of a tour. The hotel looks a bit dated, but the room was comfortable and had all the facilities that you would need. Breakfast was poor. A buffet style, with Chinese and a (small) western choice. Quality of food disappointing. Even the orange juice was warm. No bar area... More

Definitely the worst hotel we stayed in during our 15 day tour of China. We were waiting for our coach to leave having checked out and were accused of stealing coathangers. The coathangers had apparantly been counted before we arrived, and must have been counted very quickly after we had left. Extremely upsetting incident. We had not even removed a... More
