I normally stay at the Soffitell but its still being refurbished and having eaten at the Shandong before, decided to give it a go. The lobby & swimming pool are much better than the Soffitel and it has a wider choice of restaurants, although the food was only average this time. This is the nicest government hotel in Jinan. The inside and the rooms are very nice - upscale in every way from a facilities perspective. Amusingly, you cannot charge anything to your room - everything is cash from the minibar [where they send someone to your room to collect the money] to laundry to having a drink in the lobby.... more
