On our fifth trip to China in Nov. 2011, we went to another part that we had not seen. This being one of the easiest and shortest distances of all. We went to Shanghai, Suzhou, Wuxi, Tongi to name a veiw cities. I Transportation was great and easy. We were able to use the fast train which was a neat... More

Stayed here on business last October. Given we were a group, check in was a bit lengthy (and i was jet lagged). The room appeared to be OK, with nice Chinese decorations. But upon further investigation, the carpet was dirty, the bathroom barely cleaned, and the bed....it was rock hard, with overstuffed pillow...unsleepable. The restaurant served us some fair to... ....but that's about all I can find good to say. The bellman watched from the door while we wrestled our suitcases off the bus and into the lobby. The place was lackluster at best - cavernous lobby that smelt of cigarette smoke, empty brochure racks and a LONG walk to the elevator. The room we had was pretty darn small... More

Chose this hotel as it was recommended in the guide book. This hotel was rather dissappointing, considering that it was rated 4 stars. Perhaps correct to China's hotel ratings. Rooms were clean however furnitures were old, my room sofa had ciggarete burnt marks on them. Don't expect much from the breakfast buffet. Reception were helpful and even helped booked my... More

Hotel was part of the Travelsphere Discover China Tour. Obviously picked by Travelsphere for its location as it was next to streets lined with shops and bars. It was also just 10 mins walk away from the Night Garden. Hotel set in large grounds. Bar areas very smoky but we stayed on a non-smoking floor and it wasn't too bad.... More

A very disappointing hotel.Everything looked ok from the outside but inside the hotel was dull and run down and the staff looked about the same! The rooms badly needed refurbishment and the carpets were a disgrace. The view from our room was awful looking over a rusty airconditioner and half wrecked buildings. The garden could have been a nice place... More

Stay at the Suzhou as part of a Travelsphere tour. As a hotel is a fairly basic 3 star hotel and the breakfasts were a nightmare, a bit like a very busy motorway service station with tea, coffee etc being split on the table cloths and new occupents taking the seats without the table cloths being changed. The worst hotel... More

This was my least favorite hotel on the China Spree tour. The hotel was in a great location. The street out front was great to walk around and shop at night. The area was so smoggy and smoky, it was terrible. The hotel smelled like smoke from the front, to the entrance and on the hotel floors. We had to... More

I recently stayed at the Suzhou Hotel on a trip to visit the beautiful traditional gardens of the city. The Suzhou hotel was an excellent value, clean, good sized room and great location. It is within walking distance to the Garden of the Master of the Nets. There is a cultural music/dance show in the garden at night which shouldn't... More
