Just spent the night here after a spectacular stay at in a Yurt in Torres Del Paine so the Hotel Isla Rey Jorge was a bit of a come down. But it's a very nice place with some old fashioned charm. My room was pretty good with large bed and bathroom. Nothing here to complain or rave about. Usually a... More

Positive: central location, helpful stuff. Negative: disgusting (as for me, hardly bearable) smell of an old house in the lobby and in the room, old furniture, dusty artificial flowers, dirty carpets. For the money you pay them there are much nicer places here.

This is a really nice hotel in a convenient part of Punta Arenas. I see other reviewers found it noisy - perhaps we were lucky, but our top floor room faced the back, looking over Punta Arenas sound and the waiting cruise ships, and we slept very well. The room wasn't enormous, but it was well furnished and clean. The... More

I stayed here for 3 nights before and after flying to Antarctica. It is central and comfortable, but very noisy. The first night I faced the parking lot next door. There was construction and car alarms kept going off all day. I moved and they put me above the pub, which was noisy all night, and off the reception, which... More

We made reservations in December 2007 for a one night stay in February. The guy who helped us with internet reservations was quite helpful. The description of the hotel read very well, and we were expecting a pleasant stay albeit for one night. What a disappointment - two of the reading lights in our room - a triple - did... More

This is an ideal hotel to stay in if you're going on a cruise to the glaciers, or have just disembarked from a cruise. It's walking distance from the port. You absolutely do not need a taxi. We didn't know what to expect, but we were so pleased. The exterior of the hotel is more like a manor house, and... More

I am going to have to echo the other reviews on this dark and dreary hotel and encourage you to look elsewhere in Punta Arenas. Before we arrived, we had not checked your reviews for once. We followed the advice of the Lonely Planet guide that we had previously felt comfortable with. Not this time. I have nothing extraordinary to... More

When we arrived, we were checked into a room that was not very clean. We found a sock and a half bottle of water in the room as well as a very un-clean bathroom. I will spare you any details on this. The hotel day staff seemed to make a honest effort to find us another room, but in the... More

We were very disappointed with the Hotel Isla Rey Jorge. The room was very tiny, the room definitely was not clean. The ground floor rooms look out onto a parking lot, the manner in which the windows open doesn't afford one a sense of security as it seems anybody could just climb in and steal a laptop, we were reluctant...
