A Host from New Zealand and you feel like in a Kiwi Bed and Breakfast accommodation. Cheap for Chile, Big breakfast, nice and clean rooms, 2 kitchen, storage, Super fast WiFi, close to the beach and the local market and the Bus terminal, highly recommended.

Great place! Great owner! Great breakfast! Fantastic market close by to make your own dinners in the two spacious kitchens. Had the best steak in South America! Perfect place to relax, because there is not much happening in Arica.

The owner works his hostel just perfectly. guests who arriva early get to put their feet under the table and enjoy breakfast, others get at last a piece of cake and a fruit juice. Ross gives you a map and his personal list of things to do in the city when you arrive, and will be helpfull every which way... More

When we arrived on an overnight bus before sunrise we were told we could not have the double with private bathroom we had booked because some people already at the hostel had stayed longer so they got preference. We were slightly put out as we felt those people should have been moved but the owner was so lovely and offered... More

After a long day of travel from Arequipa, Peru we were so happy Sunny Days was our final destination. From the outside the Hostal doesn't look that great, but don't let it deter you. Once inside you will feel like you are at your grandma's house. We were greeted by the owner immediately and offered juice and a snack (awesome).... More

I arrived in Arica, which in my perception is a bit in the middle of nowhere (in the less green parts of Chile, near the border with Peru). As my bus was getting closer and closer to the city, I felt a bit discouraged by the lack of vegetation. My first attempt for accommodation was at a different hostel, picked... More

We stayed here three nights and wished we hadn't booked for so many! We found the rooms to be very basic (we were in a private double with ensuite) and dare I say shabby. The bed linen was old and uninviting, the floors needed a good clean, as did the bathroom. We had trouble with the hot water (lack of)... More

Our hostal is not new. In 12 years of operation several thousand guests have passed through our rooms. Surprisingly our “Guest Book” is full of comments like;- We stayed 6 days in your hostal and enjoyed every minute. The best hostel in Chile, thank you for your hospitality and help you made us feel at home! 15th Dec 2011. There... More

We find it difficult to understand this critique because it is not clear what ofended these guests! Other negative critiques have given us 17 to 19 green bulls eyes and rated the hostal a three. Yet these guests gave us 23 green bulls eyes, but only rated the hostal a two. We can only conclude that since room and sleep... More

Sunny Days has a relaxed atmosphere. Rooms with private or shared bathroom or dorm.Stayed here a couple of times and used different rooms. All are nice and spacious. Perfect breakfast. 2 big kitchens with many appliances to cook. Nice communal areas. Fast WiFi. Only a 5 minute walk to the beach. Almost next to a food market. Ross the owner... More

This is a lovely hostel. It has two huge kitchens to cook in and a good breakfast, not just a bread roll like you get in most hostels. We arrived after a 16 hour night bus and Ross put on breakfast for us and another couple even though it was after breakfast time and he did not charge for it.... More
