Staying -- and eating -- at the Cockatoo changed our time in Siem Reap from wonderful to way beyond that. Not only are the rooms, the garden, the pool, comfortable, the owners make the you feel even more comfortable. Peter and Virgil are so charming, so easy, so knowledgeable that everything that you ever worry about in travelling melts away.... More

My wife and six month old baby and I stayed here along with friends in early April; a trip away from China during Qingming festival. It was our first trip to Siem Reap and indeed Cambodia. As many other guests have pointed out, Peter and Virgil really make a big effort to help you maximise your time in whatever way... More

Nice place to stay. Rooms are not the biggest, but are very comfortable. We stayed right after they had a fire upstairs the week before. They emailed us right away, and told us of the issue, and offered to find other accommodations if we did not want to stay there now. The place was nice, kids enjoyed the pool very... More

It's taken me longer to write this than I would have liked. I stayed at the Cockatoo in summer 2011 in the low season -- I think I may have been the only person there during my five-night stay. This was an incomparable experience -- Peter and Virgil became, literally, my friends while I was there, which is unusual for... More

Our stay at the Cockatoo was one of the highlights of our month long trip. Peter and Virgil were wonderfully entertaining hosts and we felt that the garden and pool were just for us! We asked Virgil to cook a meal for us on our second evening and this proved to be the best meal we had on our trip... More

Stayed here for 3 nights under the care and guidence of our hosts, Peter and Vergil. My friend and I had a great and very pleasant stay. The key point here is that it is not a big hotel but a little boutique resort for those wanting peace and quite after a long day of hitting the sights of Siem... More

We stayed here for one night in the pool side room. This room commands the highest price for any room in the resort but it is still a little cramped. We really do not know the going prices for such B&B inns in Siem Reap but it is a touch on the higher side, when compared to our stays in... More

The writer of this review had booked a double room for two adults but to our utter surprise he turned up with his wife and son. Normally we make it a point to communicate with our guests before they arrive, but in this case it was a prepaid reservation made with an online hotel booking agent, and there was no... More

We stayed at The Cockatoo Resort and Restaurant in December 2010. Peter and Virgil are delightful hosts in every way, and made us feel really welcome. The garedens and pool are a wonderful oasis of calm, and we loved whiling away a couple of hours dozing in one of the cabanas by the poolside. It's very informal very relaxed and... More

I dont normally write reviews, but this was a fantastic place. I had read that Peter and Virgil are most helpful in giving sound advice and making the most of your trip. And they were plus a lot more, I cannot stress the good times we shared and friendship we grew. These guys single handedly made my trip what it... More

I stayed here at the beginning of August and Peter and Virgil couldn't have been a more gracious host. They even offered to move me to a larger room at no extra charge when it became empty. The resort itself is well maintained with competent staff (including a very nice tuk tuk driver) and I like the fact that it's... More
