If you're looking to take it very easy in Copacabana, La Cupula is a great place to do so. All of the staff are very friendly and the rooms are both very clean and very homely. I'd be happy to recommend it to anyone who fancied a tranquil time by the lake.

If you can't get into Las Olas, this is the place to stay. Run by the same owner, this was his first hostal, and the success led to his building the now-famous Las Olas. A little cheaper, and with slightly more ambient noise, this is still the next-best place to stay.

We loved this hotel. It was great value for money, the room we had was great and clean, with a huge window. The restaurant was great (with a beautiful view), and all the staff were really nice and helpful. They have beautiful gardens to hang out in and take in the lovely view.

We happened to have an excellent trout dinner here and immediately moved to La Cupula, where we stayed three nights. Had an amazing "suite" with a sun room at hostel prices. The owner/manager, Martin, is very hands on and we've never encountered any host with comparable helpfulness in many years of travel in many countries.
