We were soooo happy to find the windmill ridge cabins. They are decorated with exquisite taste and very comfortable beds ! If you have a chance to get a one room cabin...do it ! The doubles are noisy !!! More

Traveled through Nevada in June 2011 and knew we would need a place to stay near Area 51/Nellis AFB. Just about anything we could find looked like a potential nightmare. Then we went online and found the Windmill Ridge - a wonderful grouping of individual cabins. But these were not old "rustic" cabins; they were clean, comfortable, modern, and quite... More

My wife and I have stayed at Windmill Ridge twice and are very satisfied. The cabins are new, clean, and tastefully decorated; the beds are comfortable. Feels like a luxury resort in a rustic setting. If you stay here, don't forget to have a soak in the public hot spring pools at Ash Springs 4 miles to the north (across... More

This was our second year to stay at the Windmill on our way to the ET geocaching highway and this place has even got better in less than a year. There are now more cabins and an expanded dinning room. We also were happy to see new outside lighting which helped loading and unloading. The meals in the dinning room... More

We made reservations at Windmill Ridge at Alamo on our way from Las Vegas to Ely and other points north. Since there seemed to be few places in this small town, we were not expecting the greatest of accommodations. Fortunately, it exceeded our expectations and we really enjoyed our stay here. The cabins (single and duplex) were spacious, modern, clean... More

checking was a problem because the desk clerk only charged $9 a night for 2 of the nights, this caused a problem getting fixed then and then later at checkout....room is super clean and good size for 2 people...a/c is very noisy and room was hot when we checked in..we went out for a few hours and returned a few... One of the problems with driving through desolate areas (like Nevada near Area 51) is the lack of choices when it comes to lodging and restaurants. When you're the only place for miles around, you really don't have to provide the best accomodations or service. Windmill Ridge was perfect for us on our long drive from Arizona to Bellingham, WA.... Don't waste your time with this place. I was here for a week and every night there was another problem. The air conditioning regularly overloads the circuit breaker to the point that a woman from the office just told me to go around back and fix it myself! What nerve; and then the air conditioning units themselves reek of mold... More

This place is our new oasis in the Nevada desert. We read about Windmill Ridge on Trip Advisor and thought we would give it a try. We travel from Boise to San Diego about once a year and Ely really does not have a decent facility. We were looking for a clean quiet place and did not want to be... More

This has been our favorite stop more than 5 years and we just decided our last. They raised the rates and cut service with inept staff. Sorry to see it happen but worth an extra hour's drive to Vegas for better choices and service. More
