Picture perfect in the falling snow, this inn has so much to offer and makes an excellent home base for visiting Missoula and Flathead Lake. Bed was super comfortable, western themed room decor charming not cutesy, REALLY GOOD BOOKS lying around and displayed everwhere - and no wonder, hosts Thom and Grace are former teachers, world travelers and great conversationalists... In was a pleasant surprise to find such a cozy place in the little town of Alberton. Our room was tiny, but the bed was comfy. Would recommend this to anyone needing a great little place to "nest". More

We stayed here one night on the way from MN to WA. Rolled into town about 4:30 PM, hosts Grace and Thom Garret were out, sign said "Back at 5". So we wandered over to the little farmers' market to shop while waiting for them to get back from "town" (Missoula, 30 miles away). Everyone asked, "are you staying at... More

OMG this is the cutest little B&B in an unusual place! We stayed here on our way to Yellowstone. I was looking for a cute, quite B&B with a little history and got much more than expected. Thom and Grace, the innkeepers, have transformed this former railroad hotel into the most comfortable place to stay. Each themed room has been... More

We stayed at Ghost Rails by accident, when the nearby hotel overbooked us. What a pleasant accident this was! Grace and Thom are absolutely charming and the B&B is a step back into the old world west -- but with indoor plumbing! We felt right at home from the moment we checked in through the late evening chat with other... More

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay with Thom and Grace at Ghost Rails. They run a great B&B with a storied past. The rooms were lovely and the food was great. Most of all, we enjoyed chating the Thom and Grace, who are truly delightful. Hugh and Kathy More

This is one of the most charming places that I've ever visited. The rooms were lovely and each room had its own unique charm. The owners prepared a fantastic breakfast and baked fresh treats in the evening to enjoy in front of a fireplace. I highly recommend staying here and hope to return someday. More

We really recommend the Ghost Rails Inn for slowing down life's fast pace. The hosts were so friendly, they sat down at the table with us when they had time and conversed with us. This further extended the warm welcome we received when we checked in. It was a sign of good leadership hearing the owners/operators complement their employees. We... More

The B&B is a historic railroad hotel built in the early 20th century. Grace and Thom have turned it into a wonderful stopover point on the way to anywhere. The rooms are comfortable and we slept like babies. Grace and Thom's hospitality was nonstop every second during our stay. We will happily stay here again whenever we're in western Montana.... More

We really enjoyed our stay at the Ghost Rails Inn. The sign outside said that we would be pleasantly surprized, and it was right. We had a hassle-free check in with Grace, the owner, dropped our bags and headed out to Missoula to catch a minor league baseball game. The rooms were deliciously cozy, but large enough (barely) for the... More
