The Wiesbauer is a great little hotel in a fantastic location. The rooms are spotless, the staff friendly and the food better than some reviews have suggested. My husband, who eats meat, said the meals were really quite good. You get a choice of two options and the meat is well cooked. Examples of meals include roast chicken with potatoes... More

Having stayed in Austria quite a few times we found the food here to be quite standard Austrian fare, perfectly edible, and a bargain for what we paid. I think some people reviewing expect 5 star gourmet cuisine when paying 2 star prices .We arrived in the evening and a hot meal was waiting for us .Service was excellent ,... More

The Wiesbauer has good location in the centre of the town. It is clean and comfortable with pleasant staff. However, like other people we had a reservation about the meals. Some were fine, and I know we weren't paying for anything other than basic nosh, but even given the tightest catering budget, a couple of the meals were unacceptable. It's... More

We also booked with Inghams via lastminute.com. Inghams reps, Tom and Hannah are helpful and ever-cheerful, and offer a range of day trips and evening activities at reasonable prices. The Wiesbauer is excellently placed at one end of the village square, with views of the church from rooms at the end of the hotel. You're only a minutes walk from... More

We hadn't been to the lakes area before, although we had a few very good holidays in Tirol when our children were young, so we knew that Austrians take their hospitality business seriously! The week in St Wolfgang was booked as a last-minute deal at a good price. The Gasthof Wiesbauer was better than we expected for the price; food... More

We booked on lastminute.com with Inghams. We have travelled with inghams before and have been very happy. The hotel was fine. The location was very central and handy for getting to places. The staff were amenable and the room was clean. The pillows aren't great and the bed is too small for very tall people. The bathroom looks like a... More

Booked through Lastminute.com / Inghams (as in previous years) and have never been disappointed. The rooms were very comfortable and clean (maid service every day) with a 'compact' shower room, typical austrian seating area, tv and balcony. We were on the third floor (no lift, so be prepared and dont book if you are not so mobile). All the staff... More

Having read the reviews I was prepared for the food but didn't mind too much as got a good last minute deal so was able to eat out some nights. The food doesn't have much fresh veg or flavour added but is palatable, not much fresh food, was surprised there was fish only once and that seemed frozen supermarket type,... More

My husband, sister and I have just returned from the Wiesbauer. Having read the previous reviews we went with some trepidation. We were very pleasantly surprised. it is a lovely old traditional Austrian Gasthof, with food to match-some very nice, but all of it adequate for a 2* gasthof with a £259 per week price. The staff were willing to... More
