We stayed at HSM for 4 nights after SA cruise with another couple. Hotel location, room, view, service were exceptional. You won't believe it - I left behind a bag with jewelry and HSM concierge Birgitta sent them back to me to US! Not sure if this could happend somewhere else!

We stayed in the Hotel San Martin only one night, but the hotel is one short block from the ocean and close restaurants. The price was very reasonable ($125 per night). We would stay there again. Breakfast was quite good. Rooms were not luxury, but clean and adequate.

The lobby of the hotel is nice looking and misleading. I was pleasantly surprised upon arrival, but disappointed once I experienced the quality of service and saw my room. Rooms are extremely run down and look like they have not been renovated since the 70s. The noise from the street below can be heard at all hours of the night...

Stayed here in early November/11, prior to a cruise. We were with a group, but arrived earlier & scouted the area. Hotel was rustic, but clean. The front staff tried their best with English so bring a translator/dictionary. The location is excellent. Restaurant was not exciting, but the Italian restaurant across the street was good value, and most could converse...

The hotel is good. We had a room with ocean view. The view is great! The room is a bit small, but clean. The interior is a bit outdated, but clean. Service is great and breakfast even better!

I stayed here for 2 nights, while working for an event held in the city. Overall I was quite pleased with the hotel and its location. The building is oldish, but they've managed to refurbish most of the rooms. I was placed in a junior suite, with a small sitting area and bathroom that was larger than the standard rooms....
