Lovely old building and beautifully renovated but if you are looking for a London-type boutique hotel with all the extras this isn't it. But it is lovely. Hard beds and pillows like every other bed except one that we slept in during our trip to Syria and Jordan. Interesting room which had "windows" onto the central restaurant area which meant... More

The Orient House is on a quiet side street in a renovated old Ottoman mansion, about a 10-15 minute walk from the center of town and its famous water wheels. The hotel has a beautiful lobby area with a 3-story atrium centered on a fountain and pool, decorated in marble and wood covered with Islamic geometric patterns. The reception staff... More

Within walking distance to the center and water wheels but will take ca. 25 minutes. Very nice courtyard. We stayed one night on our way to Aleppo and another night when coming back. Both rooms without window but comfortable, not too small. Some bathrooms seem to be a bit basic but the rooms and bathrooms where clean. Buffet breakfast was... More

The hotel is in an old "mansion," with many of the features intact. The restaurant serves very good food (no alcohol) and seems to attract a lot of Syrians, who are not staying in the hotel. It is a bit out of the center of town and difficult to find (no Roman letters on the street side to locate it... More

We had booked through GTA Hotels to stay at the Orient House for 4 nights. On arrival we were told that the local agency had made a mistake and we could only stay for 2 nights but that they would try to make alternative arrangements for us. This was disappointing as we had wanted to minimise the number of times... More

We stayed for just one night. Location is in a small street but in the surrounding are noisy roads. Rooms were ok in size and a furnishing. The window is very tiny, but due to the road its better to close it. The hotel has a nice patio with a good restaurant. As we were there many non hotel guest... More

The foyer and restaurant areas of this hotel are lovely - characterful old building beautifully restored, cool courtyards with waving palms. The rooms are very variable. As a couple we had a nice, quite big room with a delightful and colourfully-decorated Turkish-style extension jutting over the street: we could sit in the window and watch the street life below. We... More

I've stayed in the other 'best hotel in Hama' which is the 5-star Cham hotel and there's really no contest. The Orient House is way nicer, even though it doesn't have a pool and it is a 'dry' hotel (which might bother some travellers). The hotel staff are very helpful and friendly (this is my second visit) and I'm sure... More

Nice patio but average rooms: tinny and no windows, tatty furniture and dirty/broken bed covers. Clean new bathroom though. Best rooms go to groups. At restaurant,  served grilled chicken thrown in a soup instead of oven cooked in clay pot... and "mistakenly" overcharged at terrace bar... Crumbs and dirty table cloths from previous dinners on breakfast tables! And breakfast quality... More

The hotel mainly caters for groups as and independent traveller they don't care for you and you will be lucky to get one of the small windowles rooms left as scraps.
