We moved hear from Vanvisa two streets further south which was noisy, had flimsy doors, no working internet - and we found this place delightful! The room was quiet, had flawless Internet. The Reception lady was very helpful and had good English. Because our flight was late in the afternoon and we could not have a late check-out due to... More

This guesthouse is few minutes walking from old town, but it's a pleasant walk by the river. Rooms are clean and have all the necessary amenities. The only minus was the satff, not speaking any English at all!! We couldn't ask for advise, the place was supposed to serve breakfast, but the staff seemed not to understand us when we... More

We stayed just for one night. There are many options in Luang Prabang for the same price. We didn't really sleep the night we stayed, the bed wasn't good. The staff were really nice though. We had wifi in our room and the location was quite good although not as quiet as we'd hoped. We ended up leaving and went... More

We didn't do any reservation before we arrived to Luang Prabang since offers seemed to be overpriced. Guesthouse owner met us near the post office and offered to see his property. We liked his place, the only disadvantage was the lack of internet access. So after I told him about that, he arranged us a wi-fi access to his neighbor's... More

I spent a week at the Philaylack, and really enjoyed it. The location is very good, on a quiet street between the main road and the Mekong river road. The family that runs it is very friendly and accomodating. The rooms are actually very nice, with AC, cable TV and good beds. It is within walking distance of anywhere in... More

I should mention, first, that I'm not accustomed to "guest houses," being an American on my first visit to South-East Asia. As a hotel-only patron, I wasn't sure what to expect. Just 12 days earlier, I'd stayed in a terrible, dirty, non-serviced room on the Vietnam/Cambodian border. The rest of my travels, I'd been in private apartments, with a friend.... More

A nice little guesthouse located in a quiet street of Luang Prabang close to the Mekong, which is very clean and has very friendly staff. I stayed on the second floor of the Villa in room 205, which has two large windows, A/C, a fan, a bathroom, a queen size confortable bed. The floor, ceiling and walls are made out... More

After paying overflated prices at several other guesthouses in the town I discovered Philaylack Villa and was impressed by the overall standard of the place and the room charges. The highlight for me was the kindness and helpfullness of the owner and her staff. Their kindness and attention were first rate. The food is of a high standard and aways... More

Impressed with this guesthouse. We(two families totalling eight persons) stayed in this guesthouse for 4 nights after checking out of our orginial unimpressive guesthouse after the first night.. Only two years old - clean rooms with showers and air con in the old silversmithing side of town near the Mekong. Food was excellent and very cheap. Highly recommmended More
