The guesthouse is on the Luang Prabang peninsula about 400 metres from the confluence of the Nam Khan River and overlooking the Mekong River. It’s a great location to enjoy the nice open area with a satisfying complimentary breakfast or a refreshing Beer Lao at happy hour and walking distance to everything that old Luang Prabang has to offer. The... More

I stayed in Luang Prabang for 4 nights with friends in April 2012, after reading all the reviews I had to make sure we stayed in this guest house…and I don’t regret my decision one bit. What made this guest house special for us was not the minor things such as bathrooms(which mind you were very clean and well kept)…it... More

We stayed here for two nights and it was our favourite place to stay in Laos. Mr Vong was amazing. Really helpful and genuinely friendly. Just a really friendly relaxed place. I liked our room which was spacious enough and filled with beautiful teak (like many buildings in Laos! but this was especially nice). At the end of the day... More

Good rooms, not so good bathroom, not so good bed, air-conditioner is too strong or off, there's no mid level that works. The floor of the bathroom is intend to be coll, but is not hygienic. The breakfast is very good, but everyday the food and drink, the localization is good in front of the Mekong river, nice view! Quiet... More

I stayed here in late 2011 and loved the place. The hotel manager, Mr. Vung(?) is wonderful, a real natural for the role. He is polite, friendly and exceptionally helpful. My wife loved the bed spreads so he arranged for three different variations to be delivered to the room for her to choose from if she wanted to buy one.... More

My wife and I stayed at the Chitdara for 6 nights altogether. Firstly this is a small hotel that has the best, most accommodating staff you will ever need. Vong of course is great and will do anything for you. One great thing is to go with him at the morning ritual of offering food to the monks. He was... More

As experienced by others, Mr Vong is simply an angel - him and his staff really go out of their way to make your stay a great experience. The B&B itself is small and the front rooms are definitely more desirable. The location is just perfect right opposite the banks of the Mekong. The breakfast was fabulous every morning and... More

I had read all the glowing reviews on this place and was eager to book it for our 3 night stay in Luang Prabang. I attempted, unsuccessfully, to book it online. I then emailed the owner, Vong, and made the booking via email. I was very glad I did. This guesthouse is lovely and quaint. The rooms are simple but... More

When I walked in I have to admit I was disappointed! After reading all the wonderful reviews about this place I perhaps was expecting too much of somewhere that is rated #1 of 119 B&B's in Luang Prabang. Firstly, there are 8 or 9 rooms in the guest house and only 3 have an upstairs front view of the Mekong... More

I won’t go into all the details as our experience is reflected by many of the other posters praising this place except to say how much we enjoyed mornings with Mr. Vong giving alms to the monks and visiting the neighborhood temple. Great location, great service, enjoyable breakfasts, clean & modern room & bath. Would stay there again in a... More
