Down an alley from the main road with the night market, great value for money! The rooms were super clean and were cleaned every day (incl. fresh towels, new toilet paper, soap etc). TV with English channels, hot coffee & tea in the morning, comfy beds and friendly staff - I would not expect anything more from a guesthouse. The... More

Had two stays at this hotel during feb 2012 and enjoyed both. Two different rooms, one on the ground floor at the rear and the other on the first floor front. The second room was more spacious however the first was quieter. Both rooms were clean and comfortable. The hotel is in a perfect location no more than 50 meters... More

We really enjoyed our stay in Luang Prabang at this guesthouse: location is good, and the quality of the room and bathroom excellent. Water pressure in the bathroom is so good, we almost couldn't believe it after enjoying many Asian showers :-) Only downside is no communal area except for a little courtyard (also breakfast is not served).

So we arrived at Golden Lotus guest house only to find that they had double booked us and knew about it well in advance. They had booked us a room at the guest house down the road instead (read my other reviews and stay here instead!) for 1 night and then we would spend our other night back at Golden... More

Very clean rooms in a very convenient location, only a few steps to the night market and many restaurants in the area. Walking distance to temples and the rivers. The only problem is the noise early in the morning. A local produce market sets up around 5:30 am just outside of the hotel and can be annoying if you are... More

This place was slightly more expensive (£15 for a twin) than most other guest houses in the surrounding area, but for us it was worth it. Rooms were of a decent size, as was the bathroom - both very clean. Good air con, tv and free wifi. Perfectly located off of the main street which plays host to the night... More

The proprietors were friendly and the rooms are clean and comfortable if a bit dark on the ground floor. The room had airconditioning, a television, and a clean bathroom. There was not a breakfast included, but the hotel is not far from many choices to eat. In the small lane in which the hotel is located there was a morning... More

We greatly enjoyed our week long stay at the Golden Lotus. The staff service was excellent. We were pleased that there was ample hot water for a good shower. Just outside the door is a wonderful morning market that is a feast for your eyes, nose and ears. The night market is just a very short walk from the guest... More

This hotel was not bad value for money, although I think we might have found better in this price range. The rooms were neat and clean, amazing shower, but the bathroom had that horrible drain smell that permeated the whole room if the door was left open. We also found it difficult communicating with the staff and couldn't check out... More

I visited Luangprabang for about 10 days and spent about 7 of this days moving from guest house to guest house because I couldn't quite find the right place. Of the places I stayed before Golden Lotus, they were a bit old and dingy, beds were uncomfy and springy, and I had a hard time communicating with the staff since... More
