We (my husband, baby and myself and my parents and the hubby's parents) stayed for almost a week and couldn't think of a better place to be. The staff were very accommodating, friendly and gave advice when asked. The breakfast was very good (the menu said baguette but bread very lightly toasted was provided - my only complaint) and filling... more

My wife and I stayed at the Villa early August; The rooms are clean (as the previous review stated not spotless, but better than average). Breakfast was very good we personally felt, more than adequate, we have lots of breakfasts not nearly as well as at the Villa. We did have some noise from the construction works next door; But... more

Firstly the Villa Phathana is very centrally located and good value compared to other places we saw, the rooms are large and cleanish (by no means spotless e.g. toothpaste in the toothbrush holder/glass, soap scum in the shower etc). The mosquito net around the bed was worrying and I have to say the breakfast was a bit poor. HOWEVER BEWARE,... more

We spent our first few days in the beautiful Bel Air guesthouse a little out of town. When we returned to Luang Prabang after a few days away we had arranged to stay in the Villa Phathana to enjoy being based in the heart of town. Of course, the rooms themselves aren't as nice as the comfortable and more expensive... more

Villa Phathana is a fantastic base in Luang Prabang, as it’s just off the main tourist strip, is in the middle of many of the Temples, is at the start of the night market and is a stones throw to the Mekong. We decided to stay in one of the rooms in the new annexe out the back, although did... more

Fantastic and friendly staff. Breakfast was included and delicious. Very happy with our stay and highly recommend it. Close to the night markets, right at the front door. Excellent cafes around the corner as well as travel agents. The people at the front desk were very helpful with all of our questions. $35USD, simply couldn't fault it, good value for... more

Villa Phathana is a beautiful hotel that seems perfectly preserved from a bygone age, much like Luang Prabang itself. The interior is all a polished dark hardwood (maybe teak?). The rooms are spacious, with cold A/C, an elegant sink in the roomy bathroom, with sat TV, a huge comfy bed (a bit stiff like most beds in asia, but that's... more

I arrived Luang Prabang without a hotel booking but just follow the recommendation of guide book and stay there, which turn out a very terrible experince. After one night stay in the terrible place, we then look around for a place to move in the town of Luang Prabang. We visited 8-10 places and than pick Villa Phathana. It situate... more

Finding a guest house/hotel in Luang Prabang with value, location, services, and luxury can be quite a task. The price is ranging from $8 USD a night to over $1,000 USD for the whole house, and there are hundred or close to hundred of places for you to choose. My experience with this guest house was far exceeding my expectation,... more

Only had one review on Tripadvisor when I booked. Contacted Wang by email on their website. Didn't take a deposit so I was a bit worried. Turned up and all was good. Beautiful room and the hotel is right next to the museum/Royal Palace and just back from the main street where the monks come by (Tip: they only come... more
