We spent a lovely 2 nights at the Windsor. Located seaside, this big French-colonial building was quite charming. The rooms had high ceilings, with large doors and spacious bathroom. Staff was helpful. Problems started upon entering our room. while some were small problems, the accumulation of small left a very bad experience. Room was very small, TV did not work, bedside lamp did not work, no pillows for bed, air conditioner never, ever cooled the room, two hangers in closet for two people. Alexandria is a great place to visit and the Windsor Palace is centrally located on the Corniche. Our room was very large. The old style elevator is a bonus. There is a good restaurant on the roof with great views of the harbour. more

Old but renovated building from 1906. High ceilings. Lifts need up-lifting. Free wireless internet was not available throughout my stay. Nice view from breakfast room. Breakfast was also good. AC a bit old and noisy. The hotel worth less than what is advised in internet sites. So try to contact directly. I stayed for 50% of the lowest advertised rate. more
