The building is a nice, old one, dating back to the 1820's. The street is being worked at, so there was a lot of dirt and smog in front of the hotel. The staff was friendly. This is a beautiful hotel within a minute of the Potemkin Steps and overlooking the Black Sea. The buildings in the area are probably the only ones in Odessa looked after- including the magnificent opera house which is a 2-minute walk The entrance hall is beautiful as is the main staircase and amazing stained glass. As the Odessa hotel had priced itself out of the market (USD350 per room - I don't think so!), we decided to try the Londonskaya for our third visit to Odessa. I stayed at this location for two nights (Superior Room) for around 100 USD a night. A lot of local newspapers advertise this Hotel. At arrival you are impressed by the "old heritage style", but once you have closer looks, you don´t really want to stay too long. The bed was horribly soft and was for sure 30 years old.... more

This is the only place to stay in odessa. Yes there will be brasher and newer hotels like the Mozart, but these exude new money (and new money people). The Londonskaya exudes old money. don't expect luxury - do book a superior or deluxe room, not the standard. For the deluxe rooms (junior suites), you don't get the junior suite... more

Londonskaya has a nice mixture of Soviet heritage and "old aristocratic" charm. It is my choice number 2 in Ukraine (the best hotel for me is Donbass Palace in Donetsk).
