As you enter into the beautifully maintained gardens which represents the centre piece of San Jorge it feels like a step into Shangri La. With Volcano Agua visible over the courtyard fountain and the wonderful sights and smells of the exotic gardens, the hotel represents an oasis for exploration of Antigua. Breakfast and light conversation with Paco, the resident parrot,... More

Fabulous place for the adventure traveler type. Very friendly and helpful staff. Always offering coffee. Very good complimentary breakfast. Located a few short blocks from town center, so it's quiet. Cable TV. Only drawback for me was lack of really hot shower..water only got to lukewarm during my stay More

I'm generally not the type that would stay in places like Antigua, but the New Year's celebration is not to be missed, nor is the San Jorge. About 2 blocks south of the square with a very picturesque view of the Volcan de Aqua, this place is built like a small presidio. I wanted to take home the wait staff.... More

I stayed 2 nights at the Hotel San Jorge. Like all of Antigua, it looks like a fortress from the outside, but the door opens to a lovely garden and fountain-a welcomed respite from the cobblestones and pollution of the city. The complementary breakfast is fresh and more than adequate to get you on your way. The garden is a... More

I led a World Vets (a non-profit spay/neuter/vaccination organization) trip to Panajachel and we stopped off for one night in Antigua. The group spent the night at the San Jorge Hotel and wandered around Antigua the following morning. While this hotel is not luxurious, the staff - especially Evelyn Herrera - were extremely helpful. The free breakfast of, juice, tea/coffee,... More

This is a superb hotel. It is in a quiet location but within a few minutes walk of the historic centre of the city. The rooms are spacious, there is a garden. Breakfast is good. The staff are cheerful, friendly and helpful. I wanted to stay 9 nights but they couldn't accomodate me one night, but made arrangements on my... More

When I walked up to this hotel I thought, wow, where am I, but once they open the small door to let you in behind the wall, you find a nice old courtyard with a fountain in the middle. The staff is welcoming and accommodating. The rooms are small and sparse. Clean but not plush (the towels, for example, are... More

I travel through Antigua several times a year but have not stayed at the San Jorge until this time. I plan to return tomorrow and have my reservation there already. The rooms are very nice though not fancy, the breakfast is great and can be served in the room and the shower is HOT with great water pressure. The location... More

Although San Jorge hotel is situated in a good location, close to the main square, the rooms are drab and shabby around the edges and the bathroom closer to budget standard. The staff were not particularly welcoming or friendly. However, there is a pretty garden and the location is very quiet. Wouldn't recommend this hotel to a friend, this is... More
