I started out in the Casa Cristina but walked by this beauty and fell in love with the courtyard. This hotel is very popular so book early. I was lucky that someone had cancelled so I got almost a full week. I loved the staff and they did a great job with the free breakfast. My room was very quiet... more

We recently returned (Feb/08) from two great weeks in Guatemala, and the first three nights were spent in The Aurora. It had been recomended by another family member, and we were not disapointed. We arrived in Guatemala City very early in the morning, and the hotel had sent a driver to bring us to Antigua. Even though it was long... more

We stayed here for 2 nights in February. Overall we were pleased and would recommend it, but there were a few things that could use improvement. The location is great! Just 2 blocks from the Plaza. We asked for one of the rooms that did not face the street and that worked as we did not hear too much street... more

I stayed for three weeks in this delightful hotel. The most striking features are the large colonial type rooms and the beautiful central courtyard. Add to this excellent breakfasts, comfortable beds, hot water and a helpful and friendly staff. Rooms were serviced efficiently and promptly, and overall the standard of cleanliness was excellent. As I wanted to work in the... more

A friendly, homey place with a fantastic location in the center of Antigua. The courtyard is wonderful, full of flowers and hummingbirds. Breakfast is delicious. Incredible coffee. They were so helpful and friendly (though it's good to speak a little Spanish as not all of the desk staff speaks English). Try to get a room in the back, as the... more

Trip Advisor reviews are right on for this hotel. This place is a gem. Eight of us stayed twice over the Christmas holiday. The first afternoon, we were met at the brand new Guat Airport by Ernesto, a terrific, safe and knowledgable driver. The airport is still under construction but very nice. Outside was hectic but we found Ernesto easily.... more

The Aurora Hotel in Antigua Guatemala is an excellent choice for those looking to get a feel for Spanish courtyards and breakfast on the patio. Each room opens onto the central courtyard which is lush with flowers, a bubbling fountain, and singing birds. While the room I stayed in was not air-conditioned, the cool clean tiling and mountain breeze of... more

We stayed here a few years ago and it was wonderful. The highlight of our stay was breakfast in the lovely courtyard garden - a haven of peace and quiet, with beautifully tended flower beds and gurgling fountain. Perfect before setting out to discover the delights of Antigua. more

My whole family found this colonial hotel to be ideal. It was secure, private, peaceful and friendly. My family felt safer in this hotel than other ones during our stay, especially with our daughters of 11 and 5 years old. It also provided a secure parking lot for our rental car. The entrace is secure, especially because it is not... more

A perfect place to stay in Antigua. 2 blocks from the central plaza, and an easy walk to everything in town. The hotel kindly sent a driver to pick us up at the Guatemala City airport. Behind the large wooden door fronting the street, we entered a lovely garden oasis, with plants, flowers, and haging vines surrounding a central fountain.... more
