Our stay at the Periwinkle Guest House was EXACTLY what we were looking for in a late summer getaway from Cape Cod. Our objectives were to tour the island on our bicycles, to walk to town for meals and to go to the Whaling Museum. It fit the bill PERFECTLY for us. There is an outdoor breakfast area where we... more

I have to say, I too read the past reviews and was somewhat skeptical of staying here. Upon my arrival, I was greeted with a warm smile, and a genuine feeling of Welcome to Nantucket and The Periwinkle. The accommodations were great, the place was very clean, and the location was excellent. I wouldn't hesitate to stay at The Periwinkle... more

I read the reviews for this property and frankly was terrified to stay there, but the price was right. We stayed at the Scallop Inn in a king room with shared bath. It had recently been redone, and I thought it was worth the money! I loved the view, and the gardens were lovely too. They gave us muffins and... more

Had booked into family suite for 4 nights. On first night found that the twin beds were absolutely infested w/bed bugs..... too late that night to move. With our absolute insistence that we could not stay in either of the bedrooms they moved us to upstairs rooms. Apologies were abysmal. Breakfast next morning equally horrific-no service in kitchen-not a clean... more

I can't recommend you stay here, despite the great name, pretty sign and quaint exterior. We had a room on the first floor. The most noticeable thing about the room is that the bathroom is *tiny* - hardly room to turn around. The windows were painted shut and the only air flow possible is through the air conditioner (which was... more

Incredibly disappointing - first, although it looks like a lovely property from the outside, the inside is shabby and the the furniture and carpets in the common areas are filthy. The rooms are ridiculously small - the beds take up the entire space and in our room on the third floor you could not even stand up in most parts... more

I couldn't wait to write a review for the Scallop Inn, due to the horrible experience. If I only knew that when you pay close to 200 dollars a night you get a bad experience. The housekeepers were great. The innkeeper was very rude and moody. The Scallop inn did not have air, and it was very hot. The small... more

The photo of this lovely B&B with its pale yellow exterior & colorful windowboxes, caught my attention. I wanted to stay here based on looks alone as I would be staying only one night and just needed a place to sleep. My teenaged son & I had an attic room with twin beds and it was charming which is what... more

well... location: the house is really pretty and located in the center of nantucket, just a few minutes walk from the harbour and the centre. room: the room we had was very small. so small, that we even had problems to find space for our two suitcases. the bed, which is quite nice although, takes most of the rooms space.... more
