I wanted to recommend this place because it was such a good deal ($115 for 1 night, 3 guests), and the couple who own it seem like honest, nice folks. It was a pretty stress free stay, but with problems. First, when making the reservation I was open about being 3 people, one a teen well over 6'3", who would... More

Lovely house, and the room was lovely. Really convenient location, walking distance into town. It was great having some DVD's on the landing to watch. Breakfast was gorgeous! More

We stayed at Horace Kellogg's when travelling around New England. The hosts were very helpful, warm and friendly people. We felt absolutely comfortable there, just as if it was our own house. We'd really like to come back some time and be pampered once again! More

Between the Amherst Country Club and Amherst College, a good stretch of the legs to downtown Amherst. Old house on Rt. 116. Very nice place. The owners are really nice people. If you are in to classic cars, you are in for a treat! Rooms are spacious. Has shared bath, but only two rooms, so it may not really matter.... More

We chose this location to break up our journey from Mystic to Vermont, as it's about half way. This was a good choice for a place to stay. Amherst was a nice surprise. It's a college town with a friendly feel. It's a little bit of a walk to the centre of Amherst from this B&B, you'll need a car... More

Horace Kellogg Homestead is a historic house (1828) restored to have a historic flavor with modern conveniences. The two bedrooms are beautiful and spacious. Although they don't have private bathrooms, this was not a problem for us because there are two modern bathrooms, one upstairs and one downstairs, just a few steps from the bedrooms, and robes are provided. A/C... More

This place is a gem! It's attractive, comfortable and conveniently located just outside downtown Amherst. Susan is a wonderful hostess - warm, friendly and full of advice about things to see and do in the area. She provides a great breakfast and makes you feel right at home. More

If you’re coming to Amherst or Northampton, listen to us, we spent three nights at Horace Kellogg Homestead, and wished we booked more. Why spent time at a hotel, when you have such a great option, in big nice quit comfortable house like Horace Kellogg, within walking distance to the center of Amherst, and very close to all the attractions... I stayed overnight at the Horace Kellogg recently, and thought it was a great find. The innkeepers were friendly and welcoming without being oppressive, and the accommodations were spotless. The "Judge's Room" was tastefully furnished in what I'd call a plain Victorian style (that is, tame prints and rich colors, but thankfully no fussy / cutesy paraphernalia like teddy bears... More
