Horace Kellogg Homestead is a historic house (1828) restored to have a historic flavor with modern conveniences. The two bedrooms are beautiful and spacious. Although they don't have private bathrooms, this was not a problem for us because there are two modern bathrooms, one upstairs and one downstairs, just a few steps from the bedrooms, and robes are provided. This place is a gem! It's attractive, comfortable and conveniently located just outside downtown Amherst. Susan is a wonderful hostess - warm, friendly and full of advice about things to see and do in the area. She provides a great breakfast and makes you feel right at home. more

I stayed overnight at the Horace Kellogg recently, and thought it was a great find. The innkeepers were friendly and welcoming without being oppressive, and the accommodations were spotless. The "Judge's Room" was tastefully furnished in what I'd call a plain Victorian style (that is, tame prints and rich colors, but thankfully no fussy / cutesy paraphernalia like teddy bears... more
