Check-in was friendly and efficient with the cookie offered (and accepted!). I declined to have my bags carried to my room as I already had suffered 'pass the bag' at the airport whereby the taxi rep. hands the bag to the bag carrier (and wants a tip for the two seconds that he held the bag) then the bag carrier... This is a refurbished property in the city center, located across from the beautiful Iglesia Del Carmen. It has the feel of a "boutique" hotel but still shows eveidence of having been renovated. Although, it has very modern amenities and is clean with a very friendly and accomodatng staff. The restaurant serves delicious food at reasonable prices, in case you... More

Dear guest, Thank you for choosing us as your place to stay in Panama, and for taking the time to let us know about your stay. Unfortunately the Panama first Metro Line, is under construction right now and all those noises come from the metro construction. This is the principal reason why the traffic is “horrible” as you mentioned it.... More

Thought the Doubletree name would mean comfort like a US Doubletree. Wrong. The room smelled moldy and damp. Bathroom had peeling paint from dampness. Bed was ok, but also smelled damp. The shower was nice and large with good water pressure. Hallways were smelly, and had some large holes in the walls where it appeared they were doing maintenance on... More

I work for an educational travel company and stayed at the Doubletree for a total of four nights in March. The first two nights were for work and paid for by my company, the second two were as vacation. The hotel itself looks nice and modern...until you've been there for 5 minutes. I got into the room and tried to... More

I stayed during one week in this nice 4* hotel. The room was functional and nice. Unfortunately the air conditioning was very noisy and the air which came out of it made the floor greasy and slippery. Beside I highly recommend Hilton to invest in modern and well isolated windows. There was a impressive noise coming from outside even so... More

The good points: Convenient location (although very close to a church with what sounds like -- at 6 a.m. -- like the largest bell in the world!) Clean, spacious, well-appointed rooms Good, reasonably priced food in the restaurant, although with a limited menu and inconsistent service Except for lapses in restaurant service, the staff are friendly and welcoming. The bad... More

Doubletree is located in downtown, close to Crowne Plaza and El Panama. The place looks new, with comfortable rooms, their suites are nicely sized. However, they are understaffed and elevators take a long time to meet your request. Another downside is the restaurant, they try to make it a nice place, and while decoration and menu looks good, service and... More

Whenever getting a room at this hotel, try to get an odd room number. Room with even numbers face the subway construction. Also, if in your room the Wi-Fi signal is poor, ask the reception for a private router. They will connect it to the wired lan connection and you'll get the best Wi-Fi signal for your mobile, laptop and... More

I stayed at this property a month ago, and I was inadvertently charged the $50 which was only supposed to be a hold for incidentals (I consumed none). I first wrote e-mails to both this location and corporate and did not receive responses from either. I then spoke with the Doubletree representatives in Dallas, who said they couldn't do anything...
