Located right on Independence Square you couldn't be closer to the centre of Kyiv. Having reserved here at short notice I was pleased to get a central room when many other hotels were fully booked. Check-in was fairly speedy, but if you don't speak the local language though, don't expect any sympathy - just learn some basics! The room was... more

The location right by the Independence square is as good as its get in Kyiv. The rooms and service is Soviet style, including the check in taking 45 minutes for no apparent reason. Rooms are decent and reasonably clean, some have balconies overlooking the square. Biggest drawback in summer months is the lack of air conditioning. At the price you... more

You can not beat location or the service. Very friendly and pleasant staff. Only problem was no air conditioning in rooms, and it was hot. Good price for what you get. more

Interesting is the best word to describe this hotel. Its best feature is its great location in the heart of the city. I was traveling alone and felt safe. Heck, there is a staff person on each floor, to monitor the keys, another staff person on the main floor to make sure you are staying in the hotel, and a... more

I met an Egyptian on the aircraft Ukrainian Airlines from UAE.We landed in Kiev at mid-night. My Egyptian didnt had a driver waiting. I had a driver waiting for me so I dropped him in Kozatsky on the way to Hotel Lybid. I proceeded for Hotel .Lybid. Next morning I wished to see my friend so I asked Lybid Staff... more

.Hotel has very good location, but except that it was disaster: no English speakers, huge wooden handle attached to the key, only smoking area in hotel’s café, barley moving elevators, interior looks like it was never renovated ( for at least 20 years). After check-in in reception we got room on 7th floor, before we could get there we had... more

Stayed room 603. Booked this hotel through SoloEast Travel in Ukraine. Price ran to $240 for a twin room for 2 nights, though this likely included a hefty portion for the travel agent. Room was spacious and fairly clean with an interesting 1950s bathroom. Hotel staff were mostly all really friendly. Location is the best thing about this hotel, right... more

Kozatsky is a former USSR military guest house for officers. I thing nothing has essentially changed since that times. The same atmosphere, the same rooms, the same staff. The reception lady strongly resembled my school teacher in Moscow, that severe old Communist lady. It is not worth discussing the rooms, as the interior is absolutely crazy. A mixture of some... more

Couldn't ask for a better location in Kiev -- right on the main square, walking distnace to all the central Kiev sights, easy access to the metro. Staff is extremely... Soviet. Almost as if sent by Hollywood for some Communist era spy film. We got there a few minutes before 1:00 and they made us wait till 1:00 before we... more

I've stayed in kozatsky 4 times, the only selling point of it is the location. it is great value to be able to walk from the hotel to the main tourist locations of kiev especially as the hotels around it cost a fortune. The hotel is very 1980's or earlier and is basic. However rooms have always been clean and... more
