I stayed in the Hotel Kozatskiy in early May 2012. The hotel is located on Independence Square (Maydan Nezalezhnosti) and as such is an ideal hotel from which to take in the sights in Kiev, especially if you choose to follow the 'Lonely Planet' guide. However, the room we had was very tired, poorly decorated and in need a lots... More

Stayed at the hotel in spring. Did not expect that in the very city center the spirit of the Soviet Union could be so strong, but surprise surprise! The location is perfect, directly in front of the main square, metro is two steps away. So if you are looking for an average place, average comfort, good location combination - this... More

Really great location, just in front of Independance square. Prices are city average. Hotel itself - pretty weared as almost all soviet time buildings. Rooms are big enough, bathroom renovated a bit... Just trouble winter time - cold as hell. If decide stay here winter time - ask for additional heaters to room

Hotel Kozatsky is located really, really great and I enjoyed that my room had a view towards the city square. That was the only great thing about my stay at the hotel. I requested a non-smoking room, however, I got a badly-smelling smoking room, and they were not able to get me another room any of the days I stayed... More

To find better location in Kiev is as hard as to get worse quality:) Located at the central square of Kiev (Maydan), Kozatsky Hotel is the best example of soviet hotel: small rooms, poor quality furniture, awful service. I new what it was going to be but decided to take it since I needed a place for a night downtown... More

The location for this hotel is excellent. We chose it because the Chernobyl tour left from directly outside the next morning. More to the point, this is a perfectly preserved example soviet era hospitality. It hasn't changed a bit and so expect it to be a bit shabby round the edges, the price reflects that anyway. For a romantic getaway... More

Except location, nothing, but really nothing good to mention about this hotel. I have booked superior double room for single use, It's just like a bunch of Kiev hotels, has NOT been renovated since 80's. Do not believe website, pictures are fake (or photoshop). )))) Old, grose dump place. Just like Kreshatik hotel and Ukraina. Shame!!!! Pictures are coming....

We stayed at the hotel in October 2010. The hotel is situated right at the heart of Kiev in Independence Square! The location is only one good thing about the hotel. Our room was very very simply with old furniture, looks like Soviet Union room. The hotel needs badly repair!

We stayed in Kozatsky hotel for three nights in May 2011. The aim of our trip was a short city break, and we were looking for some reasonably-priced hotel with central location. Kozatsky exceeded our expectations in sense of location – it’s just at the corner of impressive Independence Square and close to everything that is worth seeing in Kiev.... More

This hotel seemed dark and unpleasant at first - it screamed "Soviet" days - but it's actually a pretty nice place. The location is amazing - you can't get a better one. The rooms are decent, although there is no AC and it was pretty hot when we got there, so we were feeling it. The bathrooms are a bit... More
