We recently stayed at the Renaissance Hotel in Sofia Bulgaria as part of a group tour. The rooms are basic but clean. Nothing special to recommend it apart from its central location and can't complain at 25 Euros per person per night. No proper bar or lounge area; breakfast buffet average but coffee and tea out of jugs never hot enough; only two slots in the the four-slice toaster worked and they took ages to toast the bread; sheet on my mattress... Convenient situated close to city centre, but not too noisy. My room was very small – had to squeeze between bed and furniture, bed mattress ridiculously thin! Breakfast buffet limited variety of hot and cold food. Staff friendly but uninterested, sit around smoking a lot. Don’t intend to stay again.
