This is a great place to stay: relaxed, friendly and easy-going staff, good beds, "help-yourself" breakfast, and a nice garden to have a beer or read. It's in a central area, just a few minutes from the pyramid and Blloku (The Block). More

This is a converted house with about 25 beds spread over 4 or 5 rooms. It has an awesome garden where many hours can be spent reading drinking socializing or snoozing. We camped in one of the three spots, it was cosy but not cramped. It was full while we were there but you really couldn't tell and we never... More

Tirana backpackers is a cozy hostel hosted in a small villa. This is very positive cause the inner garden is completely at disposal of the guests and you can drink beer with good company. The rooms are quite crowded (too many beds for the size) but still ok. Very poor breakfast and not so clean common spaces More

This hostel is one of it's kind in the capital of Albania. Close to the city center, cheap and yet it has everything you'd want from a hostel. The young crew that runs this place also lives here and is very helpful. They even prepared the only city map in Tirana (there is no touristic information here)! Anyway, this large... More

For me, this hostel fitted the bill perfectly - very central location, quirky atmosphere (it's quite a grand villa, converted to a hostel with a kitchen area at the end of the garden) and cheap/easy going. There was a real mix of ages and backgrounds of people staying here, but everyone seemed friendly. The staff spoke good English. My friend... More

This is a small, clean hostel which feels of a home rather than a lodge. It makes it a perfect base to explore Tirrana. The staff can help you arrange transport and make an onward plan. It is also part of www.balkan-hostels.biz.ly and gives a 5% discount to travellers coming from another B.H. The backyard is a plus and the... More

This is a typical hostel, but since Albania is not a typical country, it was very nice to find. Central Tirana is very accessible from the hostel. The rooms are what you would expect in a hostel, as are the washrooms. But for the price, location and social opportunities, it is a great place to stay. More

We heard about this hostel in the Lonely Planet Guide and decided to give it a go. Most of the staff were very friendly, and the garden was lovely (with some tortoises wandering around it quite happily). Its very basic and they could do with another bathroom, but at 12 euros a night you can't really argue. More

Tirana Backpacker Hostel is Tirana's first hostel. It's easy to find, as the big green and yellow villa is clearly marked. It's not a terribly long or difficult walk from Skanderbeg Square. The young couple that run this place are awesome. They're super-nice and are extremely knowledgeable about Tirana's attractions and its messy transport system, and they also know a... More
