Funny smell when entering the room, only at the third room we found a properly working bathtub.No TV but they brought us one on request (no remote, too modern for this hotel), room not properly cleaned, carpet thorned appart. We spent New Years Eve 2005 and several days thereafter at the Royal Tahitien and we loved it. We then returned for a couple of days, at the end of our holiday, after we had been island hopping. Visited Tahiti 31 Aug thru 5 Sep, had picked the Hotel Royal Tahitien as our base and was not disappointed (web site pictures are quite accurate). This hotel is nothing like it looks on the web. It was way out of town and rather tired looking and slightly shabby.
