Good location, near the mall. The room is roomy, clean and looks as new. Very good breakfast. Front desk attendence very kind. Despite it´s business looking I recomend it for all kind of trip. It´s not near the touristic route but there´s a good neighbourhood. For eating I recomend "Perdiz" (it´s just two blocks away) with it´s typical barbecue. more

Nice location (the neighborhood, Punta Carretas - and Pocitos, is a residential one, and, except for the ramblas - huge avenues alongside the La Plata river - is not exactly touristic, but near business sites), formal hotel. Pretty good accomodations, breakfast ok, as well as service. The tip goes to the Chivito, a typical uruguaian sandwich, really good at the... more

This hotel is located at Punta Carretas, an upscale neighborhood, very near a mall with all the services that one might need: banks, supermarket, shops, restaurants, and so on... You shold also try the restaurant La Perdiz wich is very good (barbecue style) and near the hotel. Just be careful when walking around at night. Room is somewhat small but... more

This Hotel has been upgraded by the Solmelia Group from a Tryp to a Melia hotel but their web-site hasn't been upgraded yet to show this. It was in a nice location - a little way out of the centre but close to the beach and a great shopping centre. I did however feel it a little too formal -... more

Upscale and good value, nice location, fast free wireless and delicious breakfast included. Block away, there’s a nice mall with restaurants and for lower priced dining a food court. Want to go to the old town, then just a quick and cheap metered cab ride. Old town is sort of sketchy at night so definitely visit but don’t pay a... more

Not in downtown, but then again, it is just were all the cool bars and restaurants are. We had an apartment for 4 people, everything was perfect, including the breakfast. more

My first note is that this hotel changed names, how recently I don't know. So my Expedia reservation still called it the "Tryp" last week but everything in the hotel is thoroughly branded as "Melia Confort". For me this hotel falls under the heading of Business Traveler's Hotel. Although it has a few hints of modern boutique about it--the lobby/bar,... more

This hotel is now called the Melia Confort, and is still part of the Sol Melia chain of hotels. We stayed at the Melia Confort for three nights, and found it to be a great choice for Montevideo. It's only a block from the Punta Carretas shopping mall, which has a very good grocery store, and several decent choices for... more

Have stayed here many times. The hotel is a really good value hotel. You get a relatively large room, good service at the front desk, great location, free wifi for a low price. Get the MaS card and you get a free newspaper in the morning. The top floor pool/gym is excellent although a bit worn out. Only negatives I... more
