This hotel is a gem. The rooms are incredibly spacious and have such an amazing feel. From the linens, to the furniture, to the fresh cut flowers, to the outdoor balcony and chairs, everything adds to the charm and comfort level. We spent six nights here and easily could have spent more. Ollantaytambo is described as the prettiest town in... More

The location of this hotel is ideal, right in the train station. The noise of the trains didn't bother us at all. The room was large, pretty basic, but just fine. We liked spending some time sitting on the porch looking at the garden and listening to the birds. The restaurant was good and breakfast was made to order (eggs... More

We didn't know what to expect especially when we had to walk past the train entrance gate with our luggage to the hotel (where cars cannot go). However we were welcomed and checked right in with no hassle for a mere 75 bucks. Our room was one of the garden rooms and had two nice comfy beds and opened right... More

This is right on the VistaDome platform as you walk off, so pretty easy to find! Walk through reception into the back area and its set up as cantina style blocks with a nice courtyard sitting area. The rooms are big as are the beds. We had a few problems - the amount of flies in the room (may have... More

We stayed at El Albergue in May of 2009 just after visiting Machu Picchu. The hotel and the staff were great. My wife and I had just gotten engaged that day and when we told them, they gave us the bigger room at no extra charge. We had also planned to fly out of Cusco after our 2nd night at... More

I had a heard a lot about this hotel and couldn't wait to stay there myself. We stayed in rooms 13 and 14 and the hotel was even better than I expected: beautiful gardens, cosy and comfortable rooms, a charming setting on the train platform, and atmospheric restaurant. We organised our own transportation around the Sacred Valley (Pisac and Awanakancha... More

A fabulous place to start a great vacation in the Sacred Valley. We stayed in Room 16 and Garden Room 10, both lovely with views of the ruins and mountains, and minimal train noise. The restaurant was great, breakfasts were delicious, and dinners the best we had in Ollantaytambo. We too came here first from Cusco to adjust to altitude.... More

We stayed several nights at El Albergue--our bit of luxury during the three weeks in Peru. The hotel is famous in Ollantaytambo, for good reason. It's beautifully done, with flower gardens, spacious rooms, first class service, and a unbeatable location for the train to Machu Picchu. Just step out the door and get on the train. (The trains will also... More

El Albergue is an excellent hotel and a great base for visiting the sacred valley and Machu Picchu. Make sure to request a room away from the platform; they first showed us a room on the 2nd floor above the main desk and we upgraded to a nicer room which was much more plush and comfortable. I'm not sure how... More

My husband and I spent two nights at El Albergue, though we would have loved to spend more time here! We were exhausted after a long day exploring Machu Picchu and it was great to walk off the train and into El Albergue. We stayed in Room 16, which had been recommended by others on Trip Advisor. The room was... More
