My group stayed at this hotel as an ending splurge to our peru trip. As many others have stated before, you are paying for location. While you will not be looking onto the ruins from your room, you will be able to wander down at any time that they are open. This means before breakfast, late in the day after... more

We stayed at the Sanctuary for one night after our 2 Day Inca Trail Hike. I booked the room on their website on a promotional prepaid rate including food and alcohol. After hiking all day, it was such a joy to be able to just walk out of Machu Picchu and into the hotel. We were tired and dirty and... more

Like so many others who have stayed at this Lodge, I was led to believe it was the only way to ensure seeing the fabled sunrise over Machu Picchu. It was pleasant enough, but the price was exorbitant, and we will definitely stay 25 minutes down the road in the little river town of Aguas Calientes next time, and for... more

We had just finished trekking in on the trail and this was a perfect choice for all the reasons that the other reviewers mention. We were a little worried about the cost when we were making our plans. But it was worth every penny. And, the thing is, it is a very nice hotel. Food was great, rooms were fine,... more

We had a fantastic experience hiking the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu in December. The Lodge was the perfect way to end the trip and felt like an oasis after camping during the trek. We arrived tired, hungry, and to be honest, not so fresh. The staff was friendly, gracious, and helpful. Having meals and drinks (even alcohol and espresso... more

We've given all fives here but I should emphasise that we wouldn't at this price were you, say, in the centre of Cusco. You are paying for location here but everything is included (we enjoyed a wonderful lunch after our second day round the ruins) and I would recommend to anyone considering splashing out on this to go ahead and... more

You can purchase your Machu Picchu entrance tickets the night prior to your visit at the hotel's front desk. They will have your tickets for you the next morning. This makes queing up for a Huayna Picchu climb very, very easy. Also, the provision of the day room with showers is really, really valuable for the day you depart. Take... more

We stayed here for one night and the first thing to stay is that the position of this hotel simply cannot be bettered. It is just 50 yards from the entrance to Machu Picchu and for that reason alone I would have to recommend it if you can afford to pay the exhorbitant price. The hotel itself is nothing special.... more
