We read about it in the lonely planet 2008 where it says the place is owned by a european couple. Well, it's not anymore and the place is disgusting. used linen, pee on the toilet (private bathroom), horrible service, advertised internet but does not work, denied phone used even when money offered. rude employees and the list goes on. Highly recommended! Right in the real Lima center. Safe, clean and affordable. Very kind stuff. Stayed there twice! More

I recently stayed at Hostel de las Artes for 5 nights, the hostel is in ideal location if you are planning to stay in the Lima central area. The rooms are large with very high ceilings. The staff does not speak very good english, but they make up for this in geniune helpfullness and kindness. If you are looking for... More

My husband and I stayed at the Hostal de Las Artes for one night. It was $17 US for a matrimonial room with a private bathroom. The staff did not speak English and blasted music from some back room, although thankfully it was turned off at night. There was free Internet access and they held our bags for us after... More

After arriving in Lima we went to the Hostal de Las Artes for our short stay in the city. The accommodation is reasonably located, with lots of restaurants nearby, though the walk to the centre is a bit dodgy (though you can get a taxi for 5 soles, or under $2 to the central square). There is also a local... More

This place is a perfect place to spend a cheap night or two in Lima (which is really all you need in Lima). The beds were comfy and there was plenty of hot water. Positives: 1. Very inexpensive 2. Perfectly adequate for a hostal 3. Friendly staff Drawbacks: 1. It was a bit musty and damp. 2. The shower did... More

We spent one night, before traveling to Cuzco. Located close to Old City, so you can walk, clean and safe place, friendly staff, pick-up $12 from the airport. Can't ask for more than that from Hostel:) More

The Hostal de Las Artes in downtown Lima is excellent value for the money. Airport pickup is offered and the staff could not have been nicer or more accomodating. The hostal is in a converted old mansion with very high ceilings. My private room was quite large, clean and nicely furnished. Free internet is offered in a common room that... More
