My friend and I walk in at 4am and we are both like ‘Is this a hotel or a museum? For $7 per person per night, you CANNOT go wrong! First time in Hotel Espana we took a 5-6 dormroom but had it all to ourselves. The second time we took a private WC shower on the uppermost level, which... more

So glad we stayed here instead of Miraflores or Barranco as recommended. Delightful decor with real atmosphere. Had a large room with own bathroom and it was great. Loved the rooftop with the plants and animals (cat / tortoises / parrots). Pickup to and from airport worked out great for us. Breakfast very cheap in rooftop cafe. For the price... more

My wife and I flew into Lima late in the evening and decided to stay this hostel. we were spending 3 nights in lima and since we are on a limited budget, we decided to stay at the hotel/hostal espana for the first night to save money before moving to a nicer place. After waiting for 20 minutes to for... more

Hi! We were at hotel espana this past month. We stayed there for 2 nights at the beginning of our trip, then for a night at the end. We did try to change the last night, but couldn't find anything else comparable available. When we arrived the first night, exhausted after a 12 hour flight, the taxi from their hotel... more

Great place to be ideally located in Central Lima, my room even had a view to the San Francisco Monastery. Raquel and Manuel, the owners, were great at recommending places nearby and really take care of the place as their own breed. The sculptures and paitings bring you back to an old-style mansion full of character. A definite recommendation in... more

But when you stay at a hotel that could be mistaken for a museum, who cares. We took a room for 3 that didn't have its own bathroom, but had the best entranceway (see photo). The shared shower/bathroom were a bit basic, as was the room, and the beds were a bit, well, soup bowlish. But we'd stay again for... more

My boyfriend and I stayed at this hotel/hostal after our trek to Machu Picchu. We previously stayed at the Angels Inn Backpackers in Miraflores which was nice but we preferred the location of being in Central Lima at Hotel España. We just walked in with no reservation and got a matrimonial room with a private bathroom for about 16 dollars.... more

I read different reviews of the hotel Espana and finally decided to choose another one. When I visited Lima I stopped by the Hotel Espana to check it anyway. The communal parts are great, lots of different rooms, great location, and good services. After one nght in the other hotel, I changrd for hotel Espana. For me Lima it is... more

I stayed at the Hotel Espana in Lima, Peru for one night before traveling on to Cusco. The hotel did pick me up at the airport, but I had to wait around 45 minutes for other people to arrive and to actually leave for the hotel (should be called a hostal). The rooms were ok, but the beds were highly... more
