I have returned to Yarapa River Lodge again and again and again. The proof is in the pudding, as we say! The knowledgeable naturalist guides bring the flora and fauna up close and personal...a feast for the senses! Tasty food and clean accomodations make the jungle experience easy...worries about health issues disappear. The Lodge is set on a peaceful and... More

I've visited many lodges and camps to see wildlife, from Madagascar, southern Africa and Brazil to Sumatra, Borneo and Sulawesi. The Yarapa River Lodge is quite special. The guides are terrific and their is much wildlife to see. Here is a set of shots from my trip: http://www.flickr.com/photos/19441530@N08/sets/72157625282029744/ More

We have traveled to over forty counties over the past twelve years. Lasy year we spent three weeks driving a rental car over 4000 kilometers through southern Peru. We enjoyed ourselves so much that we decided to travel back to Peru and visit the Amazon Region for a week and drive a rental car through nothern Peru for two weeks.... More

From the time we arrived at the airport in Iquitos to the time we left we were totally taken care of. This was our first adventure into the jungle and I can't imagine a better experience. You could not have asked for a better staff; the food was excellent, rooms kept very clean, safe transportation (both on land and river),... More

I don't need to add anything extra to the excellent feedback this lodge has already received. At first I thought it too be a little expensive but after the full experience I was very well satisfied. Food is excellent! The guides will pretty much find all the animals you want to see. Its situated in an amazing location. Well worth... More

We only had 3 days to spend some time in the Amazon. Yarapa River Lodge was the perfect solution. It's far enough downriver from Iquitos to get the jungle feeling. The water level was still really high which meant we had to go everywhere by boat which was both relaxing and exciting. The staff are really well informed and will... More

It was the most unique trip my wife & I have ever taken. The staff was great & the food was out of this world, the only regret was that we could not take the cook home with us.I was expecting to see unusual wildlife, which we did,but having the botanical elements explained in such an expert fashion was a complete surprise,I would... From the moment I stepped off the plane in Iquitos until I boarded my plane to leave Iquitos I was Queen for a week. The service, food and experiences were superb. As a woman traveling alone, I felt safe and well cared for. My guides were friendly and thoughtful, looking out for me and my interests. Pancho, the spider monkey,... More

The staff was helpful, friendly, and always willing to assist. Rooms were spacious and maintained daily, best part was walking into the room to see what animal (towel origami) was sitting on the bed - a great personal touch from the staff. Meals were excellent, the buffet style perfect, allowing for many choices. The location was pristine...allowing one to feel... More

I had the misfortune of breaking my arm (shoulder area) 17 days before leaving on our trip to Peru. I got the all clear to go from the Orthopedist, with strict instructions to take it easy and keep the arm quiet. Having planed this trip for years, I boarded the plane in Minnesota not sure how things would go for... More
