We have just spent 8 nights in Hostal El Grial in Cusco. It is located in San Blas, a very nice area of Cusco, also known as the artist quarter. It's not far from the main area of Cusco. We walked everywhere, the uphill is not that bad, besides, it's great to wander the streets and see more of Cusco.... More

Long-time staffer Eloy is a wonderful help, and the hotel is right-sized and quiet in the prettiest part of the historic Cusco. The beautiful Sacsaywayman park, the best restaurants and most other attractions are easily walkable, once you're acclimated. (Take taxis until you are, especially uphill.) The triple room costs a litttle more but is large and has a great... More

Highly recommend El Grial. The staff are great and they will bend over backwards to help you out. When we left for the Salkantay trek they packed us an early breakfast which was a great touch. They also held onto our bags for when we got back and everything was still in tact. Not far from the Plaza de Armes... More

We moved to Hostal El Grial after developing a strong dislike for our first hotel in Cusco. The staff is warm, the wooden floors, high ceilings and white walls give a warm, spacious feeling to the rooms and overall hostal. Free internet (and 1 computer for guest use!). We stayed here before and after our Inca Trail tour, and would... More

This place was great. I got really sick during my stay in Peru (the flu) and couldn't get out of bed for several days because I had a terrible fever. The staff was very accommodating and helpful. Great location, friendly staff and a good value overall.

Hostal El Grial is a true hidden gem in Cusco. We ended up staying in Cusco longer than planned and needed a place to stay last-minute after our tour to Puno was cancelled. Our previous place (Hostal Marani) was full so they brought us down the street to Hostal El Grial. Here we met super sweet Eloy, who manages the... More

I have stayed 2 weeks at the El Grial in summer 2011. And I can highly recommend this place to stay when you are in Cusco.. Lovely rooms and bathrooms - and plenty of hot water ..: O Everything is clean and well maintained. All the staff is super nice and helpful, and you feel very at home. They happily... More

My wife and I stayed a total of six nights at el Grial, before and after our trip to Machu Pichu. Our room was large, comfortable, clean, warm and had a great view of Cusco. The hotel is is located in a very quite area of the San Blas area and has less than ten rooms i.e. the nights are... More

We stayed at El Grial for two nights. It was in a quiet area of San Blas. The hotel had been redone. The room was nice, the water was hot, the bed was comfortable, and the staff were friendly. The Internet connection was poor. Overall, it was very good value.

I stayed in this hostal for five nights whilst on an intensive Spanish course at the Spanish school. All the staff are super helpful & most speak excellent English (they will encourage you to practice your spanish if you speak any!) the location is great in the cobbled streets of San Blas & just a 5 minute downhill work to...
