Andenes de Saphy is a nice place to stay and is not too close to the Plaza, but not too far away either. We would walk to the Plaza during the day, and take a taxi back at night for 3 soles. The staff at the hotel were very helpful with anything we needed. The beds were not too comfortable,... More

Place is ok...woken up very early by people leaving for excursions. They say they take Credit cards then try and charge very high percentage. Clarify this before agreeing to stay there. More

We stayed here during Christmas break. We found the rooms comfy and decorated pleasantly. It's a bit spartan for some, definitely no more than three stars, but because of it's simple modest comfort, it's really two-plus stars. Rooms are clean and beds were firm. Some mattresses might be considered a little worn but on the whole, very nice. The rooms... More

Great little hotel. The staff was very friendly and helpful, rooms clean with individual artistic touches that make each room unique. It is close to the action, but not so close as to hear all the noise on the street (although the walls are a bit thin). More

We got there Dec 31st, 2010 straight from Vancouver with a plane change in Lima. The idea was to stay in Cuzco for a few days to acclimatize to the altitude. We were 2 couples and rented 2 separate rooms. Very clean rooms reasonably priced. We had good service even though we had to explain things with hands and dictionary,... More

if you go to MP on a budget, this is a GREAT place to stay. we paid about 55 per night, but i'm sure you can probably haggle for less... they speak great english, and are very helpfull to guests, the only problem is the thin walls and creaky floor, if you are a light sleeper, you may wish to... We really enjoyed our stay especially since we were 5 people traveling and we got the "apartment" room, it was a bit of the way up since it was the room on the top but after getting there it was nice. My only BUT is that the bathroom smelled which I beleive it is the plumming luckly we took a... More

Just in case you're searching online--it's Andenes de Saphi (with an "i" not "y") Anyhow, this hotel was a fantastic experience! It was located just far enough from the plaza to keep things a bit more relaxed, but close enough for a couple-minute walk into the heart of Cusco. We received a room we requested by photo from the internet,... More

I cannot speak more highly of the helpful staff. We stayed here four days prior to our trek with hotel staff having no problems with keeping our extra belonging in a safe location while we were exploring the Inca trail. Situated a few blocks off of the Plaza de Armas, the location could not have been better. Comfortable rooms with... More
