Given the pictures, reviews and star rating of this hotel, I was expecting something spectacular. I would have even been pleased with "pretty good". However, we were sorely disappointed. It would be one thing if the hotel was rated three stars, but for five stars, and the amount of money you have to spend per night, the quality of the...

We were very spoiled after spending a week at Tambo del Inca in Urubamba. Libertador has a great location and a wonderful lobby and courtyard, and the hotel felt clean, but the rooms were very stark. Plain rooms, very hard beds, lousy showerhead, dated furniture and TV. Staff was friendly and competent, no complaints, but after staying at Tambo del...

Very convenient location for exploring Cusco. Our room was strange set up with minmal natural light. Overall room & bathroom needed updating. Service in restaurants were average. Exercise room was closed for 6 months for rennovations -- hotel didn't have any other arrangements available.

This hotel is desperately in need of renovation. It allegedly will become a Westin in 2013 and Westin has its work cut out for it. In particular, the rooms are very dated and somewhat unappealing. They lacked charm and the creature comforts one would expect in a high quality hotel. The nicest part of the hotel was the breakfast setting...

The last time I was in Peru, in 1992, the Maoist “Sendero Luminoso” (aka: Communist Party of Peru) was on the warpath. In July, a few months before I arrived in the country, it carried out a bomb attack in the Miraflores area of Lima, which left 24 people dead and more than 200 injured. The capital appeared tense, suspicious...

Needless to repeat the praises ever made. If you can afford it, worth every penny.

Went back in July of 2007. Stayed here on the way out of town; on the way in we were at the Monasterio. If you can afford it, there's no comparison. Monasterio is a unique property that will engage you and reward the insightful with plenty of memories. The Libertador is basically at the same level as a warmed over...

A very fine hotel with an excellent restaurant in a unique location. Rooms are fairly modest in size. You will need a good map to find your way around the city. Beware of altitude and move slowly. Oxygen is available in the hotel. Don't be afraid to use it.

Great hotel, located centrally in Cusco. The staff are friendly, the rooms are comfortable and clean. From reading the reviews on TripAdvisor, I made sure that we stayed in a hotel with that wasn't facing the streets. I had asked for a room with a single king size bed and when we arrived they said that they only had rooms...
