This is an honest opinion based on our stay so if you're a die hard Llaqtayay fan then don't comdem us for our honesty. Our host Sonia was incredibly helpful, in fact she couldn't have been any more willing to help. She gave us great advice on where to eat, tips on managing altitude sickness, local sites to visit and... More

As soon as we arrived Llaqtayay after a 22-hour bus ride from Lima, Sonia handed us a cup of hot cocoa leaf tea. We felt like home right away and we met other travellers from other parts of the world and Sonia introduced us to each other so that we can share our travelling experiences. The room was big and... This is a warm, clean, and comfortable place to stay. It is not for everyone, especially for those that need anonymity and alot of amenities. But for those who want to get a real feel of the warm people of Cusco, this is the place. I stayed in a single room with very comfortable bed, cable TV, WiFi, and large... More

Went to this palace on either side of Macchu Picchu for a few nights each time. Found it to be best value around for the private room (shared bathroom) we were looking for. Room itself very nice with balcony window out onto the street, tv and lovely exposed wooden floorboards, lots of space. Shower was typically inconsistent for this part... More

Absolutely wonderful host Sonia, who has a lovely family, runs this hostal. Welcomed with a cup of coca tea after a long bus ride we likes this place from the very start. You stay with the family so feels more like a homestay. This was the best place we stayed in South America during our 2 months. Fantastic value, comes... More

We are a young couple on a six month round-the-world trip. Llaqtayay has been one of the friendliest and most welcoming hostels of our trip, and we thoroughly recommend it. The rooms and facilities are basic, but the beds are comfortable and towels, soap, wi-fi and breakfast are included. We paid 40 soles per night for a double bed with... More

We spent in Llaqtayay all together 3 nights before and after our Machu Picchu trip and we were more than happy there. The host - Sonia really care about her guests well-being. Hot shower and towels are provided without having to ask for this. We also got simple but good quality breakfast included in the room rate which is served... More

The place seems like a colonial era house; rustic room with creaky woden floors, balcony on the street, beams on the ceiling. It was great! No heat, but the alpaca blankets kept us warm on the chilly nights. Small tv in the room The bathrooms are shared, one upstairs, one down. The give you a little breakfast of toast, cheese,... More

I reserved a room in advance using their website's contact info. Pros: Nice house. Cheap price. Beds are great. The cable TV is useful before sleeping. Shower is hot. I paid for their laundry service and my clothes never smelled better. Cons: none here However, nothing stands out more than the owners Sonia and Joe. They are pretty dam cool... More

My boyfriend and I ended up staying here 5 nights in total. The guest house is excellent value and Joe and Sonya the owners are ever so lovely and helpful and both have excellent english. We had two different rooms during our stay, both were spotlessly clean and comfortable with good cable TV channels and nice warm blankets. Breakfast is... More
