This is a great little hotel. We were met at the airport by a friendly driver who pointed out some of the sights on the way to the hotel. Terrific location...we were able to walk everywhere. Fantastic customer service in every way. They were always happy to help us. I had a bout of altitude sickness upon arrival and they... More

Staff: Very helpful but sometimes overwhelmed with the number of customers or customer requests. They made an error and charged us $150 instead of $130 per night. When I went back and pointed this out, it took them over half an hour to convince themselves that the error was on their part. Once this happened the apologized profusely and refunded... More

First off the location is perfect. Close to the plaza des armas and many other key attractions. But location is just a small part of this. It started at the airport. They had a driver come and meet us. Nothing like seeing your name and a smiling face when you enter a new continent for the first time. It was... More

We had a wonderful experience at the hotel. Firstly, airport pick up is greatly appreciated. The room was clean, spacious, well stocked with warm blankets and cozy with a rustic feel. The hotel is quiet, centrally located and courtyard is lovely for breakfast. Breakfast was also very good: cereals, cheese, cold cuts, two different types of toast, fruits, dry fruit... More

What an amazing find! Hidden down a pedestrian street, opposite the beautiful Qoricancha and only a 6 minute walk to the centre city, Unaytambo Hotel is wonderful. The staff are incredibly helpful, even if you speak very basic spanish. The tours they organised for us were great value for money and very well organised. The rooms can be a little... More

The Unaytambo Hotel exudes character with its colonial charm. The standard rooms are small, but adequate. The superior rooms are very spacious and ours had a view of the Qoricancha Temple. Overall, a very warm feeling to the hotel and a sense that you were surrounded by so much history. Nights can be cold in Cuzco, so the down comforters... More

I have to admit that based on the reviews and the photos of the place on tripadvisor, we were slightly underwhelmed upon arrival. The hotel is a bit hidden, down a side street that most taxi drivers we used couldn't find. The hot water didn't work very well the first night we arrived (but was fine otherwise) and the wifi... I felt in love with this hotel since I came in. The atmosphere is so nice and cozy, the people are nice. The rooms have a very good size, it used to be a house from the colonial time, and they have maintain the magic and it is pretty good conditions. I highly recommend this hotel!

We spent our first two nights in Cusco here to acclimate to the altitude and enjoy some relaxation. The location was great - we had a view of Santo Domingo and the activity in the square, but it was never loud. They offered a great breakfast, the wifi worked in our room upstairs, and the staff was very helpful. There... More

Great, friendly, courteous staff that will accommodate your needs. They provided coca leaf tea, pills for altitude sickness, and oxygen masks right upon arrival. Great location next to koricancha temple, a short walk to the main plaza. Superior rooms are spacious, bathrooms on the small side but good Spanish showers. Breakfast is not bad and included with the room. They... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
The UNAYTAMBO Hotel is a large house of the viceroyalty built on Inca foundations. It is situated within an archaeological complex and according to the chronicles of the Inca Garcilaso de la Vega, in his famous book ‘Los Comentarios Reales’, the Inca Pachacuteq was born here, the most outstanding Cusquenian in all history. Proof of this can be seen in the double door posts, characteristic of the entrance to sacred places, in the present day the only doorway conserved in its original state and which serves as the entrance to the UNAYTAMBO Hotel, a witness to this grand legacy. ... more   less
