First off, this isn't for businessfolk. Its beautiful grounds and well-done rooms are better for the young, families, solos or groups. It's right next to San Pedro, across the street from Central Mercantile, around the corner from various super-cheap polloarias, half a block from the supermercado, and two blocks from the old city gate. Not to mention, its four blocks... More

I traveled alone and, as a lone female, felt safe and relaxed in this hostel. The rooms are fairly basic but why should that matter when Cuzco is awaiting you, ready to be explored. My bed was comfy, the room and bathroom extremely clean and the breakfast varied. My room was above the playground for the school next door, so... More

the hotel and the gardens were beautiful....right next to the Church andmarket, walking distance from the main plaza. perfect location, and was easy to go on hiking adventures, or go shopping, hit the nightlife (also in walking distance) or take a cab and explore other parts of cusco. the hotel is run by women, some of which are nuns....really great... Very attractive hotel, lots of lovely gardens, nice inside also. Staff were lovely and helpful. Rooms were clean and had everything you could need, including wifi and shower was nice and hot. There is a jacuzzi that when we asked to use it the staff set up for us with bubble bath and rose petals! Buffet breakfast is nice. Easy... More

I write this review with a bit of remorse because I understand that the room rates help fund a girls' orphanage. I think it'd have been a more realistic experience had we known this is a hostel, more than a hotel. The rooms have minimal (if any) amenities. The beds are not comfortable. We had to switch rooms in the... More

Please read on - this is not a criticism but an explanation. When we made our reservation, I gave the hotel my credit card number and was expecting to be billed the amount of one night's stay. As it turned out, the charge was about $15.00 more than the price of the room. The hotel uses their own rate of... More

My husband and I stayed at El Rosal for 2 nights last month after reading positive reviews. Our room was clean and modest with a modern bathroom and nice views of the mountains. It was very quiet facing the courtyard. It's only a few minutes walk to the Plaza de Armas and right across the street from the main market... More

This Hotel was a great retreat for our 7 day trip. Nice staff, the location was good not in the middle of town near the local markets. All the money that the hotel receives goes directly to support the orphanage with 50 girls form age 5 to 18.

We stayed four nights at El Rosal while touring the ruins and the region. The hotel is clean and quaint, appears to be a former monastary for the San Pedro church it is attached to. It has many courtyards with roses and greenery and a beautiful old church sanctuary off one of the courtyards. An ample breakfast is included, with... More

I stayed at this lovely place one night with my daughter (who was fresh from Machu Picchu) and, later, another night by myself. Both visits were wonderful. Each of the staff was cheefully helpful. My daughter's laundry was done overnight (inexpensively) and delivered to the room early. Ice was provided to the room upon request. Beds were comfortable, and the... More
