This hotel is a cute little gem in Arequipa. The staff are extremely helpful, the rooms are simple and clean, with hot water and if your lucky even with an amazing view of the surrounding volcanos. The walk into the centre is pleasant and is a good distance to be away from centre chaos. Arequipa is such a lovely city... More

We stayed for 4 nights in total and enjoyed the stay. The rooms are clean, spacious and have comfortable beds. We stayed on the 3rd floor and then on the 4th floor and both times had wonderful hot showers. Breakfast is served on a nice little patio in the sun and for a few extra soles you can get eggs... We enjoyed our stay at the Hostal Solar - it is a great place to stay in Arequipa. The room we stayed in was big and clean. The staff were very helpful and friendly. A good breakfast is served on their rooftop terrace. I highly recommend it. More

Free pick-up service offered by Hostal Solar is not reliable: no one was waiting for me at the bus terminal when I arrived very early in the morning; when I called them, they asked me to take a taxi; happily, the paid me back the 7 soles of the taxi ride, which is fair. Also, they were very kind to... More

We were met as promised at the bus station, although it was midnight. The room was spacious and light, although without much of a view, but it was quiet. There was hot water in the basin as well as the shower. Breakfast on the terrace was help-yourself to juice, puffed wheat and yoghurt, rolls and jam, tea and coffee -... More

I have not been impressed by this hotel, the room was big and nice, however the cleanliness was not great, there were hairs all over the duvet. The showever was warm. Furthermore, on the evening that we arrived in Arequipa the taxi driver from the hotel did not show up, even though they confirmed the service via email the day... More

The rooms are simple and clean. It's about a 10-minute walk to Plaza de Armas. A quiet hostal on a busy street, plus it's very secure. It has a wonderful terrace where you can enjoy the included breakfast every morning, overlooking the mountains. More

After 2 nights of bad hotels this hotel was a welcome change. Clean, inviting and charming. My room had this neat balcony and the breakfast was excellent. Highly recommend a stay. More

We had a triple roomon the second floor right next to the rooftop terrace where breakfast was served. The staff was very friendly and organized our tour to Colca Canyon and our bus trip to Cusco. Including storage our luggage during our tour. The rooms were clean and bright and the shower was amazingly hot. The only downside was they... More

The hostel is simple but welcoming and clean, nice common areas, a 5-10 mins walk to the Placa de Arma. The rooms are functional but reasonably spacious; nice water pressure which we appreciated after hardly any in the hostel we had before. A special perk is that the breakfast is being served on a terrace with a view on Misty... More
