We stayed at the Hotel El Relicario del Carmen for a week in January while we explored Quito. What a wonderful experience! The hotel staff is professional and polite, and go out of their way to take care of everything. They were even able to arrange to have someone come to the hotel and give me a massage and often... more

My wife and I stayed here for 2 nights in December 2009. The small hotel has been beautifully restored with wonderful furniture and artifacts. This was a real treat to stay at during our 4 week trip to Peru and Ecuador. We had Room 47 at the top(NB stairs only - no lift!), with nice views of the city. The... more

Have just spent 4 nights in this lovely hotel - great location in the old town of Quito, a couple of minutes walk from the main square. The hotel is beautifully furnished and equipped, and very comfortable. Wireless internet was useful, and the included breakfast was delicious. All the staff without exception were friendly and accommodating, from my late night... more

We stayed here for 3 nights, with a night away after the second. The rooms were very comfortable and totally quiet, although there was a busy road outside. The location is perfect, less that 2 blocks from the Plaza Grande and the important visitor sites, and just round the corner from the Vista Hermosa cafe bar, our best find in... more

Arrived in the middle of the night and met by very attentive staff who offered us coffe (we declined and hit the sack) and something to eat. The room was absolutely spotless and large enough for the three of us and all our luggage. Bathroom was nice and clean and the fixtures all redone in the recent total renovation of... more

We were very pleasantly surprised with the elegance of this hotel when we entered from the street, as the exterior of the building is quite simple. The furniture and furnishings are beautiful, with original artwork on display (and available for sale). We were fortunate to have a lovely large room at the top of the building with a great view,... more

We moved here from small hotel in El Mariscal because we didn't want to keep taking taxis to historical sights and museums & el Mariscal can be very noisy. Best decision ever. It is 1.5 blocks from Plaza Grande thus easy walking to all parts of Centro Historico. Can't imagine a tourist staying anywhere but the old town. We absolutely... more

Our group of 8 stayed at the Relicario del Carmen for 3 nights prior to a Galapagos trip and one night upon our return. The location is great--a 2 block walk to the main square and the tourism office, small grocery store around the corner, and plenty of restaurant within walking distance. Our rooms were comfortable, spotless, and beautifully furnished.... more

This hotel in the old town of Quito is perfect for a break to see the city. It has a unique style with original artefacts. It is comfortable and elegant. I cannot speak highly enough of the staff, everyone was friendly and exceptionally helpful. Everyone tried very hard to understand us and to help us understand them - a few... more

Their website doesn't do this hotel justice--it is much better. It is elegant, interesting, and all the staff are attentive and obliging in every way. It is a relatively safe short walk to the main square, and if you don't feel like going out its small restaurant offers good food. The breakfasts were of a very high standard with fresh... more
