As with many others, we stayed here on and off for four nights during our holiday in Ecuador, heading off inbetween to Bellavista Cloud Forest and the Galapagos. We seemed to experience a declining standard of rooms, starting out at the top and heading steadily downwards, although other reviews have had it the other way. We used it as a... More

I really wanted to hate this place, because the room I got was *nothing* like they said - it was a complete bait-and-switch. The photos showed beautiful, contemporary design; the reality was the rooms were tired, old, and beaten up, in a tired French Provincial (not contemporary) style, although at least clean, and with heat and WiFi, as advertised, although... We stayed at this hotel for 7 nights altogether, 3 on arrival in Quito, 2 after a Galapagos cruise and 2 more after an Amazon adventure. It was a good base and we liked the breakfast room/restaurant and the ground floor cafe where staff were happy for us to share snacks and provided appropriate crockery etc without being asked. Reception... More

We stayed here 3 times during Feb 2012 as part of Galapagos / Amazon tour. The rooms we had were all clean but the decor is somewhat old fashioned. We liked the fact that there were wooden floors in the bedrooms. We ate in the main restaurant on one occasion, the food was good but the service was slow. We... More

I stayed here for a couple of nights during the beginning of a two week trip to Ecuador and another night towards the end of the vacation. I really didn't care for the hotel the first stay and wasn't looking forward to going back there. However, the second stay was better; I found that some rooms are better than others.... More

Hotel has large rooms with huge windows with included buffet breakfast. It is well located in La Mariscal away from some if the rowdier sections. Hotel is clean and provides good value to the traveller.

I stayed in Reina Isabel twice, both before and after my Galapagos trip. Service here is great. Staff are very efficient, helpful, polite and friendly. They make you feel like home. The hotel itself doesn’t look fancy at all from outside, however, the rooms are surprisingly nice. They are amazingly spacious, modern, very clean, and nicely decorated. The hotel is... More

Great location right on one of the main streets. Easy access to the fun in La Mariscal. The rooms are very nice especially for the rate (use Expedia or another booking service online). Nice bathrooms, too - including a bidet in our room in the new wing. Breakfast (included) was adequate but not terribly exciting. The bar is ridiculously overpriced... More
