A great little hotel, just outside the main tourist area in Quito. Extremely clean throughout the hotel, with basic mod-cons like free wi-fi and continental breakfast. The staff were really helpful and spoke a good level of English (although you should be trying Spanish!). Good location to access all Quito's sights - it's about a 25 min walk from Old... more

I only stayed one ngh on my way to Manta, but this was one of the cutest, cleanest hotels that I have stayed in. The staff was very helpful, and the quaint little restaurant was excellent. The price was very good for the accomodations; not luxury but very good for a short stay. more

Stayed at this hotel for four nights in late 2008. As other reviews suggest, this is a tidy and economical little place in a quiet neighbourhood but still handy enough to Quito's points of interest. A taxi to the old town takes 10 minutes and costs around $3 (there is also a trolley bus which costs far less, but is... more

This hotel is perfect for the thrifty couple. Excellent staff, very friendly and helpful. The employees at the front desk speak english which was great. I would help you greatly if you brushed up on some spanish before you go. Very, very clean and neat. Best deal I ever got for the price I paid. Your a few bus rides... more

My travel partner and I stayed at Eugenia without knowing the area. We were SO happy to find that it is in safe walking distance from Plaza Foch in the Mariscal district! Plaza Foch has many restaurants, clubs and bars. You can easily stop at an ATM or store in most directions. Not once did we feel threatened by our... more

I really enjoyed this hotel. The service was very good, and they were all very warm people. They brought us tea for the altitude and took good care of us. It's small and the rooms aren't first class, but you get a nice room, nice service, you feel safe, and it's super cheap. We had friends staying at the Mecure... more

My wife and I stayed at the Eugenia Hotel for three nights while on an Overseas Adventure Travel trip to Ecuador and the Galapagos Island. It is located in a quiet neighborhood but near many services, to include ATM and supermarket. The decor is charming and quaint. The rooms are not large but are very comfortable. The beds are particularly... more

I had read the reviews on this hotel before booking it, and after staying there, I think it is a beautiful and affordable hotel in Quito, My husband and I loved it. And considering we paid just USD30 per night, it was more than fantastic. Yes, it is a small hotel and yes it needs some improvements in the room... more

We stayed at the Eugenia Hotel twice in August 2008 and found it to be a good, reasonably priced hotel. The staff at the hotel was considerate and helped when they could. We were able to store our excess baggage at the hotel for a week when we travelled to the Galapagos Islands. As well the reception phoned about our... more

At bargain prices, this hotel is a good choice for Quito if you're not looking for luxury. The good points: the price, free breakfast, free internet use. The negative points: traffic noise, rooms need a bit updating (the showerhead would be a good place to start). The staff was remarkably friendly and helpful. The room was rather small, but adequate.... more
