The hotel is quite expensive but we felt it was worth it. It is a few minutes walk from the centre of the tourist district so feels safe (and they have locks/guards on the gate). Each room is decorated differently and they offer lovely breakfasts! The staff are very polite and helpful and the atmosphere is very relaxed. We couldn't... more

service was excellent, the rooms clean and beautifully decorated, we stayed for four days and used the concierge services to obtain guides for four days of sightseeing in northern Ecuador, each day was fabulous and returning to cafe cultura for drinks and dinner was a truly wonderful experience more

Cafe Cultura is a real oasis in Quito and is everything is says on its website and more. The beautiful building oozes genuine, old-school sophistication mixed with quirky surprises around every corner. The staff are friendly, welcoming and helpful. The restaurant is fantastic for meals at any time of the day. It's located down a quiet, residential street which is... more

My teen daughter and I stayed at the Cafe Cultura for two nights while visiting Quito. I researched and chose the hotel from the internet. We were extremely pleased with this boutique hotel. It is well located in the New Town, one block from a handicraft market. The gates are always locked and guarded so we felt a sense of... more

Cafe Cultura was a fantastic place to stay! Each room is uniquely decorated and the fireplace and library are cozy and inviting! The included breakfast exceeded my expectations. The only negative is that the floors are creaky and a hot shower can be hard to come by if you're showering at peak times! more

The rooms are really nice. This hotel is a bit pricy for quito, but the rooms are really nice and the location is great. It is in the new mariscal area, but a few blocks (5-6) from the main plaza and restaurants. So the hotel is in a quiet area far from the noisy restaurants and pubs, yet within walking... more

Cafe Cultura is a charming hotel that is conveniently located without being smack in the middle of the tourism kitz of Quito. My boyfriend and I made the hotel our home base in Quito between our mountaineering/hiking and Galapagos excursions. We actually stayed here three times over a two week period (short 1 night stays between trips elsewhere in the... more

Expectations much exceeded reality. The photo in their ad shows a beatiful structure in what looks like a nice residential setting, surrouned by blue sky - it´s been photoshopped - the setting is grimy, neighboring buildings have been cropped out, and the sky ain´t usually blue. The quality of the renovation in respect to workmanship is fair - there are... more

My husband and I stayed here 3 nights in November 2007. The moment we walked in, we felt warmly welcomed by the staff. Our room was beyond our expectations, complete with rose petals on the bed. The restaurant serves fantastic food in a cozy atmosphere. Overall, we very much enjoyed our experience. The only drawback I would mention is its... more

This is a very different hotel in a colonial building located in the heart of Quito. Each room is individually decorated with elaborate faux paintings and lots of charm. It's an expensive option for Ecuador, but worth the experience. The staff is lovely and the gardens charming! We'll come again. more
