It was wonderful to arrive after a very long journey to the beautiful Mansion del Angel in Quito. The hotel is beautiful and the rooms are lovely. There is no heating so it can be a little cold in the rooms in winter but the staff are terrific and will offer you a hot water bottle for comfort at night.... More

We stayed at Hotel Mansion del Angel on a recent trip to Quito. It was a gem. We had a beautiful suite full of unique furniture. There was a great salon outside our suite to relax in. The breakfast was in a charming room off a courtyard and was nicely done. The staff could not have been more friendly and... More

Like everyone else on the way to the Galapagos we had booked the Mansion del Angel but for 2 very different prices. The large very expensive room was huge. it was room 206. It had a musty smell and lots of windows which i would guess they open to air the room out. If you don't find every window and... More

Just returned from a trip to the Galapagos, and it was wonderful to overnight at the Mansion del Angel and then return for a few days afterwards. The rooms are charming and original, the breakfasts delicious, and the staff is as kind and attentive as you could wish. Others from our group stayed at a big chain hotel, and we... More

This is a very classy (but not terribly expensive) hotel in all respects. My wife and I stayed there two nights before Galapagos, and four nights after -- in two different rooms (and we saw others). The rooms are spacious, with high ceilings and very well appointed. We had fairly extensive dealings with several members of the staff (including front... More

We stayed here in March (myself, wife and two boys) and were treated like royalty. An oasis of peace in a busy city. It feels like walking into a 19th century, richly decorated home. Large bedrooms, large bathrooms, an extensive sitting room on the 2nd floor, a great breakfast.

This is a charming and interesting place to stay. The rooms are huge and well decorated. It does not feel like staying in a hotel but rather a fine country house in the past. Beautifully decorated 120 year old mansion with old world charm and friendly staff. Large well done bathroom and comfortable bedding. Garden is lovely and dining area intimate and charming. Only downside is the busy commercial neighborhood that makes a real contrast to the tranquil feel of the property.

The hotel is located close to a park about 20-30 minutes walk from the President's Palace. The hotel itself is quite charming and a nice change from the standard hotels.
